I'm in SC, and mine is shipping via UPS.

The tracking number isn't working yet on the UPS website, but on the email I got from Apple, it says "Delivers by Oct. 30."

(Fortunately, I was able to reset my admin password, so if it doesn't arrive tomorrow, I'm not as boned as I originally though).

Yaaaay! It's here! 8am NZ time and it's just arrived at my workplace via TNT courier! :) That hologram box really is quite attractive!

Only another 8 hours of work until I can get it home and install it... :(

Strangely enough, it was sent Global Express from Apple in Sydney, Australia. Obviously we're not worth having our own distribution centre!

One other thing I noticed was the following sticker applied to the outer parcel :

"TNT Drivers : As a one-off, and only for deliveries to private addresses if the consignee is not home, Apple authorises this to be left in a secure location and without POD signature."

They really want people to have that OS, eh?!

Quick make pretend you are sick and head home!!!!!

Installing on the iMac while using my MacBook. The hologram on the front of the box looks really cool.

Opening the box for the first time was a bit slow, but it became snappier after a while. Must have been indexing.

Will Leopard be shipped with new macs?

Currently, I do NOT own a Mac but am seriously considering one within the next week or so! Could someone confirm as to whether or not the new macs will come with Mac OS X Leopard preinstalled? or will it still have Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger! Thank you.

Nearly playtime....

Interestingly, the 'time remaining' started at 2 hours 50 minutes and dropped down to 30 minutes ten minutes later.

If I wasn't so jealous and wished I had my copy of Leopard like you I would comment on how messy that desktop is.;)

That's because standard archive/install from an iMac is 30 minutes give or take, as you have no doubt figured out by now and was noted in the forums yesterday.

Well, I haven't noticed anyone from Australia post, so I thought I would jump in... My Leopard DVD arrived about an hour ago via TNT, being about 10am local time.

It is currently installing on my Intel iMac while I am using my G4 iMac. :)

Well... mine arrived this evening as well... Everyhing thing went fairly smooth for the install. I really like stacks for downloads. immediately there was an update for something called remote desktop. I installed that immediately even though I don't think I own that program?

Also, disk utility is behaving a little bit erratic? I tried reparing permissions after the initial install and all kinds of things started spinning for about 5 minutes, including all my fans on my macbook. It also doens't really "count the time down" like Tiger. Kept saying it couldn't reapair permissions on remote desktop. Wonder what that could be? Could that update have been a mistake?
