took exactly 40 mins from popping in the disc and installing on my macbook

first impression..

everything is so......... grey!!! black apple logo (top left) is a bit dull too..

everything else is just sweet as from my hour or so of messing about..

My movies widget does not work. Says invalid zip code. Granted I had this problem with this widget when I downloaded it from the web a couple months back. Anyone know how to reinstall just this one widget?

The same way you originally installed. Download it again and double click on it.

Nice

The first time I've used a Mac with a UI as responsive as Windows.

This was the No1 thing I was waiting for.

:)

All installed (upgraded) on my black Macbook Duo 2.0 with 1gb ram. Install was smooth, but I do miss the detailed information going by as it installs (just says "Installing Mac OS X on volume 'blah'" and has a progress bar and time remaining, no other feedback) but I can live.
During installation, go to the Window > Show Log (I think that's where it is...)

mac in sig.

upgrade was problematic. the installer couldn't find my hdd, even though I had restarted from tiger. Disk utiliy could see my disk. I went into terminal and did stuff, came back and there it was.

Verifying the DVD took longer than the install
install had "reverse microsoft minutes" - started at 2 hours and was finished within about 30 minutes.

is slow. but spotlight is reindexing, I expect it to leap in performance when that is done

mail *doesn't* have an option to import all RSS from safari.

convert of mail to new mail is *fast*, it *pinged* at me, I thought it was going to ask me to click OK to start, but it was telling me it had finished.

cover flow is slow when you load a new folder that you haven't opened before, but with spotlight reindexing, and it being the first time, I was expecting that. It's faster now, but not as fast as it could be. 14 minutes left of spotlight re-indexing remains though.

hum

My iMac 2.8ghz refused to do any install but the erase and install; that was not an issue as I was quite prepared. The process took about 40 min. and the system is a lot faster with this new cat.

My MBP installed with the Update method and took about an hour; both units are doing the TimeMachine thing right now. The iMac speed seems ok; I just have to remember that TM is running.

I love this cat.

Ahhh... I hadn't realized that works live. Thanks!

Now if only I could find a way to "re-enable" the lost info drawer (not bubble) in iCal 3.0 .

Front Row is very snappy compared to Tiger. Web copy thing is very nice. The new Finder's iTunes-esque layout is well thought-out.

Cover flow in Finder is somewhat less sluggish, but I expected that. Was hoping Quick Look would support DivX, but maybe that was optimistic. And I know it's out of date but support for MS Word and not Appleworks?!

They've improved Rosetta. StarCraft runs even better now (no choppy FMV, for example) and seems to take up less CPU as well. Yay!

Safari 3 is even more of a memory hog than it was in Tiger.

Spotlight seems to index over and over again. Time machine is taking a very long time for its initial copy.

Had a bit of issue connecting to the wireless network.

My VMsize is currently 98GBs though which is a massive increase to what i was normally getting in Tiger ( read 5 times)

However I am really liking it at the moment.

wireless network

My wireless network has a WEP password and with new installs with Tiger I always had to key in the code. This morning with Leopard it just connected to my network with out me keying the code... strange..

Just finished installed and after playing around a bit, I'm a little dissappointed I must say :( Love some of the new stuff, but some of the negatives i've found:

- transparent menu bar - dear god do i find this hideous and annoying... is there any known way to set it to a solid bar as it was in tiger?

- sluggishness in some loading/graphical previews

this is my first *new* apple release, so i must say i'm impressed with the stability, i just wish i archived and installed rather than upgraded :(

you can still archive and install if you really want, just pop the disk back in.

First impressions...

The red exit window button colour is disgusting on my MBP.

There is not enough shadow on the top of windows to differentiate the current window from others.

I like the transparent menu though it's not that transparent! Infact I'd love to increase it further.

My Safari does not allow tabs to be dragged into other windows, or to create new windows.

Oh, backdrops suck - way too sensitive to change from the natural background. Adjustable?

Just a quick one. Stacks seems not open unless you click on them. Was under the impression that they would pop open. My temp on my MBP is running a lot warmer than before. It cooled down after another reboot. I need to go thru and try and reset some of the defaults. Is there a way to reset all defaults to beginning (i.e. Mail is Default, Finder, etc)? I have a lot to look at so will learn as I go along. I am hoping though that the temp does not really exceed if I run a graphic program like WOW that would exceed the computer.

Bill.....:apple:

Anyone installed it on a G4 yet?

Got an iBook 1.33 Ghz w/ 1.25 GB ram running 10.3.9, trying to decide if it's worth getting leopard or if I should just upgrade to tiger.

Experience so far - BAH this is lousy

Well I have a blue screen. So do apparently a lot of people. So my first impression is that Apple knowingly shipped buggy software.

Leopard smells like Vista. I hope that things improve.

Not really interested in wiping the drive on my MBP just to have the joy of spending hours reinstalling software.

Disaster, basically

Did Leopard upgrade on 1 month old iMac. Installed OK + restarted then a light blue screen. Nothing else. A total TURKEY. It's going back so they can get the ridiculous disk back out of my machine.

Well I have a blue screen.

uhm... blue screen? What's that in OS-X... that's trouble windows....
So tell me, what went wrong? Or has it to do with bootcamp or so?

Skip that...

I already found:

Seems like some problems with upgrading from existing scenario's... could be 3rd party stuff that crashes it. Guess we will hear lot of this comming hours. (That's why my DVD is still nice in the box until the first update appears).
