If they aren't doing first-in, first-out shipping, then the person(s) in charge of shipping at Apple need to be fired IMMEDIATELY.

I ordered with regular ground shipping. No sense paying 2-day air on a product that I have to wait 5 weeks for anyway.
 
Mine is on the way, too!!! Coming from Fulllerton, CA.....since I'm in Las Vegas, fed-ex showing that expected delivery is tomorrow!

i'm guessing there's more than one 'guy' at Apple responsible for shipping?

and i doubt they'll fire their senior VP of logistics over this. :D
 
OK people, let's stop the flaming and reserve comments for either people who's orders have shipped, or people who want to bash Apple for being logistically deficient in every possible way.

I can't believe someone who ordered the exact configuration as me nearly 20 days after me already has a tracking number. B.S. Apple. :mad:

I'm on Camp Lejeune in north carolina, wait to be more exact, jacksonville right outside of it.

I feel sorry for you. Jacksonville SUCKS. I was there in 92 for a month and then 99-00 for about nine months. Luckily I lived in N. Topsail the 2nd time, so the suckiness wasn't quite as bad.
 
I ordered mine in mid-Jan...don't know the exact date as it was placed through a corporate purchasing contact from my company.

I hope everyone gets magic shipping notices soon. Me -- I'm not prepared..my extra RAM and HD aren't here yet (figured I've 2 more weeks to wait at LEAST). So if this shows-up tomorrow, I won't even be able to really give a test drive (it is standard 2GB from Apple).

Anyway, I'll post tomorrow night with my first impressions (making switch from PC to Mac).

Everyone seems to be going on the assumption that there is one giant global waiting list and your position on the list is determined by the precise time stamp when you placed your order.

Der.

That you may have ordered early does not matter. Where you live, where the BTO facilities are and how many orders are placed in that region do.
