I'm in. I joined because I've been reading these forums for months now waiting and waiting for even a little piece of info on a new Mac Pro.

I got a Belkin 1500VA waiting for this beast. :)

.

oh, my current machine is a Macbook C2D 2.0GHz, 2GB ram, and a 120GB HD.

Add me to the list of people waiting, I got my CC on standby for the release of the next gen Mac Pro. :)

i'm definitely waiting

i sold everything i had and know i have nothing and basically using a PS3 temporary until november or macwotld 2008 if i waited this long i can wait even more 2008 is not that far away and inlight of new displays and updated MacPro i'm definitely getting that 32 inch cinema display, which video cards is better the 640mb 8600 or ati 2900 hd sense imacs comes with ati 2600 hd already i thought apple will head ati route for the cards. but until the MacPro update i'll just keep saving up more

Wirelessly posted (SonyEricssonP1i/R100 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Symbian OS; 598) Opera 8.65 [en])

I've been waiting to upgrade my iMac (see sig) to the new iMacs with Leopard. But in the past year, I've done a lot of freelance work in photography, photo movies for weddings, recording music and lots of video encoding. All thanks to Apple and my iMac. I think with the money made and my developing awareness for multimedia and digital life, I think I'm ready to go to the Pro platform to speed up productivity and to make a little more money! It was such a pain on Windows using Pinnacle, Adobe Premier for video editing and encoding and photo editing using Photoshop. My Windows machine crashed/froze a lot! On the iMac, it was great, hardly any problems! on the Mac Pro, I bet it would be awesome!

Count me in!

I think I should continue to wait. Shouldn´t I wait? (I know, I know, that old question, AGAIN!)
I am in the very "special" situation that my student-discount ends in late November. That discount saves me almost 200 Euro. The problem is: If I buy a Mac Pro now, I would configure it to a 2650 Euro total which would only get me the dual 2.66 GHz, 2 Gig RAM, only 250Gig HD, only the old 7300 GT and Bluetooth and Airport cards.

My guess is, if I wait for Macworld, I will probably get a quad 3 GHz, 2 Gig RAM, 320 Gig HD and newer graphics card for the same price (the current baseline model without discount is 2.500 Euro). And it would have Leopard installed.
Do you think my price-estimation is right? (You can think in Dollars, it´s the same numbers.)

If the price is the same in the end, I´d rather wait for the new version with slightly better specs.

But I am going to buy Final Cut Studio 2 before my discount ends. :D

Sorry for the language but you sure as hell would not get a 3.0Ghz Quad-core Mac Pro for what the current base line model cost.

Count me in, I'm gonna update my white Core2Duo 20inch iMac with a next gen Quad/Octo :apple: Mac Pro.

Please Sign your name in this thead

if you are on this way (waiting for mac pro way)..

I think until that day we are all friends.. (and when we pass that day too)

I'm not sure if the list is being updated anymore, but add my name on to it if it is.

Current machines: G5 Powermac Dual 2.0 / G4 Powerbook 1.67 15"

The Next One Should Be 8 Cores For The Same As 4 Now

I think you underestimate how much more powerful the next ones will be.

So if Apple does release the new MacPro for sale with Leopard, I assume that they would make the announcement along with the final release date of Leopard, so probably in the next 2 weeks?

Ok ok. Put me down. I'm in. Just sold my Mac Pro. Lets see what apple comes out with.

Lol, u make me laugh Macenforcer. I remember you coming here and bashing ppl for waiting and now you joined the club? Well, big LOL here for Macenforcer. :))
