The answer from Apple would be 'The wheel is designed for you to move the MacPro. If you have moved your MacPro, you should remove the wheel.' o_O

Those little wheels look pretty cool on the Mac Pro.

Perhaps the guy should sue the company that installed the concrete floor. Apparently it is not level.

Looking forward to hearing how the ADL spin this one. Perhaps people moaning about $400 caster costs just aren't pro-sumer enough to understand.

A fool and their money...

Well obviously the Mac Pro is such good value that even after paying $400 for wheels the overall computer is still a bargain. This is not about $400 wheels, it's about a $10,000 computer with magic wheels. And if you can't afford $400 for wheels maybe you should stick with your consumer-grade Dell.

Of course, the people saying that will be all the usual suspects bragging about their iPad Pros as they wonder what a computer is and insist Apple needs to get out the computer market, which is just for dinosaurs.

I'm going to hold off and wait for next year's Mac Pro Wheels 2.

Are you sure that's wise? Given Apple's track record, they'll go for twice the price and have a different hole in the Mac Pro 2 breaking compatibility.

Haha $400 Apple must have re invented the wheel

FWIW, I have some PCs in the same size range of the Mac Pro. Ages ago, I cut out plywood boards 2" wider and longer than the PC and mount 6 chair casters to the bottom. Costs about $20 all in and they've been through several computers and still going strong.

And these guys wanted to make a car, huh?

Yeah the same people who design wheels for a computer would be in charge of designing a car.

Why would you need locks for wheels on a computer? If it’s on a desk why are you putting wheels on it? If it’s on the floor what’s the issue? If it’s on the floor of a ship maybe there’s an issue.

You are late. Didn’t respond with spin until page four.

It’s clearly been too long since the last Apple controversy, as evident from how the haters are all frothing at the mouths to criticise Apple over what is really a non-issue.

Look at this way when you work for Disney and Pixar, $400 for them, like $4 for us. So when you watch the next Pixar movie or Marvel movie and enjoying it. Those wheels help move around those Mac Pro units to create all that video and animation. So this is a great price for the people that the machine is created for. Buy a MacBook Pro 16 and enjoy a really great laptop that you can afford.
LoL. Ooooook there buddy.

They're WHEELS. Wheels are supposed to roll, that's their function, their reason for existing. A lock would be counter-productive. These beautiful $400 wheels are essential simplicity at its best. Less is more. A lock would mean unnecessary complexity and hinder the wheels' Raison d'être.
The amount of boot licking in this post is very amusing.

This is the funniest thing I've heard all day.

And the $999 wheel lock? 😆😆😆😆

But after commenting, I thought of my my recent experience with 'under-designed' Apple products. THe Powerbeats Pro! It has no way to turn it off, so they will 'wander' around the house, connecting at random to any device they can while they are in their case, supposedly recharging! So, they wander, and blow their charge, and I can't use them. So, what's the point of Bluetooth headphones with no off switch (or common sense enough to STOP WANDERING when in the case) that kill themselves like that?

UNDER-DESIGNED!!! It would seem to make perfect sense to have them STOP WANDERING when they are in the case! Like is there a way to use them when they are IN THE CASE? No! So why do they connect to something when they are in the case? UNDER-DESIGNED!!! Damn...
