Now matter how much disposable income I had, I'd feel like a fool spending $400 on those wheels even if they looked good and were lockable. Neither are the case.

So I have to ask; I see TONS of long time Apple regulars here bashing the ignorant and unspeakable greedy garbage that Apple pulls. Are these same people still buying Apple stuff? Have they left and gone Windows and only come here to rip on Apple? Or are we all just a bunch of pathetic hypocrites? Yes, I am speaking for myself too.

Apple made $22.1B profit in 90 days. I like what Tim Cook has done. I’m not alone.
Clearly invested...

From fleecing people with overpriced, buggy hardware, and taking their extortionate 30% from App Store sales for basically being a storefront and a payment processor.

Let’s be honest about it - they aren’t making that much profit playing fair on the customer. But as long as the shareholders are happy eh?

that is absurd but in real life they'd be connected to bunch of cables which would prevent it from rolling around.
Cable length: 100cm (3.2ft)
Desk: 75cm (2.4ft)

Oops!:eek::rolleyes:

The above are made-up numbers, but you get the point. Someone needs to let a Mac Pro roll off a desk to gauge the holding power of the cables with a Mac Pro dangling in mid-air! Any volunteers?

You must think people are idiots.

Do you really think Apple’s customers don’t think they are getting their money’s worth?

Yup, guilty as charged. I explained why in a previous post.

However, if the prices continue to increase exponentially, then the alternatives begin to look more attractive, despite the lack of coherency between the platforms.

Cook will price people away from Apple eventually, and then the currently smug shareholders won’t be so smug.

They aren’t. We aren’t.

Not anymore. I've got an old original Mac Pro. I was waiting for whatever they came up with to replace it, and couldn't even remotely afford it. This one is WAY in orbit, with no chance I'll ever have one in my office.

Yeah, they are really having an engineering problem now. From the emaciated iDevices, and Mac Books, and the brain dead Beats headphones, to endless software glitches, it's like Quality isn't job#1 anymore. But it's still better than Windows, and using a Linux clone, while easier, is still not for the 'average' keyboard user.

They are still the better alternative (and don't flame me for saying that) and just need to focus more on the many levels of their products. (Like it still kills me that my PowerBeats Pro's will connect to a Bluetooth source WHILE THEY ARE IN THE DAMN CASE! I mean, they are completely, totally, unarguably IMPOSSIBLE TO BE USED WHILE IN THE CASE, but they connect anyway. Stupid stupid stupid engineering...)

The Cube was a great computer. What are you talking about?

They cracked...

No it wasn't. The target audience didn't really exist, execution went wrong, and few bought it.
Btw, the guy you're replying to is only here to try making his AAPL shares worth slightly more. I don't block many people here...

Does anyone really need a lock? I get making fun of it, but I don't think this is a real problem.
I say the Cube was not a great computer in order to make my supposed AAPL shares worth more?

I’d love to understand your logic, but since you say you blocked me I guess I’ll never know.

$400 for optional wheels!! WOW you got to be kidding me. A $6000 BASE Mac Pro that has the same power as the iMac Pro should get you some wheels!

in a day an age when people are losing their jobs to automation like the cashier FREE Amazon grocery store it is very very very risky to demand a premium on these types of things $399 Apple EarPods included

Not everyone makes the salary of APPLE CEO Tim Cook

I don't judge anyone. I flirt daily with the idea of divorcing Apple once and for all. I have built many insanely powerful and stable PCs (not to mention I had zero issues with them), yet I still come crawling back with my tail between my legs. There's just something about macOS. I am embarrassed to admit that I have very much succumbed to the "cult". The eco system and expert Apple psychologists have managed to get a firm grip on us that dared enter their world. I really do want to leave Apple behind for a lot of reasons. One main reason being principle alone. I think they do some really unethical things, and not only that, but knowingly do it and could care less. I have tried a number of PC laptops, don't laugh, but it's the dang MBP trackpad that keeps me hanging on. Why is it that no PC company can create a decent trackpad that can even touch the MBP?! Anyway, here I am with you all wanting to leave and bitching about Apple while holding out my wallet in the other hand. LOL

Who are these unemployed people who need, and can afford, a Mac Pro, but who cannot afford the wheels?

I guess wheel locks isn't too big of a deal, but the price tag is nuts. Almost as bad as a $1000 monitor stand.

I don’t agree, but I’m biased by the 628% appreciation in my Apple stock since Tim took over.

I completely understand this.

People love to point out how well Apple has done since Cook took over, and I would agree if one was talking about an investor perspective.

People also like to bring up Apple's marketshare, but I personally think that Apple made a much better product when they hardly had a marketshare.

From a consumer perspective, I think that Apple has really suffered under Cook. When comparing Apple's products to the competition, Apple used to make a higher quality product with a premium price.

Now, it seems like the quality is going down while the competition is going up.

I still think that Apple is overall better than the competition, but the gap between the quality of Apple's and the competition is closing.

For real.. they would probably costed more if there was was some intricate locking mechanism on them.

I think the point is that people might be more price conscious when making purchases now.

There probably not too many people out there that can afford the Mac Pro, but can't afford the wheels.

But, that doesn't mean just because someone can afford it, it should be priced that way.

I think the $400 wheels are more ridiculous than the $1000 stand, which at least has some complicated gearing in it.

The wheels appear to be...wheels.
Good point.

...As pointed out by MKBHD in a review published this morning, those super pricy wheels have no locking mechanism, which could be major problem if a wheel-equipped Mac Pro is placed on a desk or a slick floor....
Why would anyone buy wheels for a computer that sits on their desktop?

Load of nonsense clickbait.

nobody is being fleeced stop being so hyperbolic.

Really? You buy optional $400 wheels for your Mac and then complain that it rolls too much?
