I’ve been having a bit more luck keeping mine asleep recently. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence but a few days ago I gave up on Logitech Options and switched to BetterTouchTool. I also ditched the unifying receiver for a standard bluetooth connection. Previously I had tried switching my mouse off when I slept the Mac but that didn’t seem to help.
I am using latest Apple Touch Keyboard, latest Apple Mouse and mine still will not stay asleep.

Did anyone try disabling FaceTime? I know that this is about the Studio, but my Studio was waking up the display with a blank screen when I received a FaceTime call so maybe it can help with the sleep issues of Studio also.

I suspect there is a general OS bug where wake triggers fire far too frequently, but also a variety of hardware/software combos that trigger it. So a workaround for one person may not do anything (or even be applicable) for another.

Hopefully, you are not alone with this experience. I shall install the Public beta when available. We'll see - I report.

Now on 12.5 Public beta: no change. Any Siri Command on iPhone or Watch or Homekit actions and the sleep is ended (and resumed afterwards).

Worse, I find that my Mac Studio wakes up regularly without cranking up the fames to the normal 1300rpm, so it gets hot overnight (5xC rather than 3xC when running normally)

Interesting as I am not having this issue. Seems it’s random as to people with this sleep issue.
I too have not experienced any of these sleep issues. I do have Siri on my iPhone, but not on my Mac and not on my Apple watch. I turn off my Bluetooth mouse when I activate sleep on my Mac and the only thing connected to it is my Apple keyboard.

In my case I have no sleep issues(knock on wood). I have Siri enabled on my iPhone, iPad, Apple watch and Mac Studio. I am using an Apple magic keyboard, trackpad and mouse. All bluetooth. I leave everything on and put the mac to sleep. Sleeps like a baby. Even performs time machine back-ups while sleeping. I use Siri often with no waking the mac.

I have had issues with sleep back when I had my 2004 Power Mac G5. It was a pain in the a$$! There was some weird stuff going on with that machine back in the day. As I remember it had something to do with PRAM?

Yes! I can confirm that Chronosync is what's preventing sleep for me. Once I quit, the Studio goes to sleep without any issues and doesn't wake up. I will reach out to their support and see if they have a suggestion.

Thanks @Mookerchief! -oo

I think the culprit, for me, might be Chronosync - specifically its "scheduler" which runs in the background even if the app is closed. Force quitting the scheduler in Activity Monitor allows my Mac Mini to sleep, so far at least.

Anyone else with this issue have Chronosync on their machine? Or similar background activity?

I've solved the sleep issue by disabling the Logi daemon for my Logi mouse and keyboard. I've lost the option to use custom command on mouse additional buttons, but at least it now stays asleep.
It sometimes still wakes from sleep when the mouse thinks it moved a little while sitting still on the desk. For that reason, when I remember to, I switch it off from its power switch.

Moreover my 10 GBE network interface was constantly (every minute and half, give and take) showing lines like this on pmset:

DarkWake from Deep Idle [CDN] : due to SMC.OutboxNotEmpty smc.70070000 enet lan-10gb

Disabling the 10 GBE interface just before going asleep (I've set up a Shortcuts action to do that automatically) the sleep power consumption reduced on average by 30-40%.

It now requires around 2.8W while sleeping peacefully.

With the new update and turning off my Bluetooth mouse, mine sleeps all the time with no issues now

Same. Although the light on the front of the Studio stays on. Is that meant to turn off when sleeping?

In the past, for systems with a light, the light would stay on but dim a bit and "breathe" (slowly becoming brighter and then dimmer, at a similar speed as a person breathing in and out). I had sleep issues with my iMac so haven't used it for a few years; I'm trying with the Studio to get it to sleep and the monitor powers off and all, but the light doesn't seem to change. I'm not sure if sleep is functioning properly or not on my system; can anyone confirm if the lights are supposed to dim and possibly change brightness as described above?

No, the light stays on, on the Studio while sleeping. You can only understand that the computer is sleeping if the fans are completely stopped.

So my Studio will now go to sleep after disabling "Hey Siri" but I believe it is still actually on. The fans are off but the case stays warm to the touch and when I wake it from sleep the fans turn on but the CPU is at 50 degrees C.

It's so odd.

I've noticed the same thing on my Mac Studio with macOS 12.4.

Running "pmset -g log" in Terminal shows a number of "DarkWake" events while the computer was sleeping. They must be keeping the fan off for these events now.

Whatever the case, it's certainly better than the computer fully waking up from sleep every 10 minutes and turning the screen back on by itself like it did before upgrading to 12.4.

I noticed my brand new M1 Air battery was draining strangely quickly while asleep. The log has those DarkWake entries almost every five minutes. A lot of research reveals that Apple has apparently defaulted the M1 chips to frequent low-level wakeups to do things like sync iCloud and update notifications and crap. Makes sense because the chips are so efficient, but I like my computer to sleep when I tell it to sleep.

Run these commands in terminal:

Code:
sudo pmset -a tcpkeepalive 0
sudo pmset -a powernap 0

The first one will disable internet connectivity while the computer is asleep, so Find My Mac will not be as effective. But if your Studio is on the move without you knowing, you probably have other issues to deal with.

They can both be put back to default by changing 0 to 1.

All workarounds should not be necessary - Apple is here miles away from its own motto: "It just works". Besides, many users complain even the opposite: after waking the Studio up, the Studio Display remains dark.

It does not really help - but clearly there are problems, Apple has to iron out. In German we call it: "Kinderkrankheiten". A little patience with brand new machines seems necessary.
