Strangely my CC just got charged for my M3 Ultra I ordered 6 weeks ago and still has 6 weeks estimated delivery. If that’s the policy then unlikely M5 at WWDC.

Apple normally does not charge until the product is effectively "Ready to Ship" so you should be getting it much sooner than six weeks.

Well…….following WWDC, base Mac Studio is now 4.5 months delivery (UK)….. 🤣
Are Apple even ‘trying’ to keep customers.

Laptops are like 90% of Mac sales so those are the customers they want to focus on serving right now with the components they can get.

Well I am glad I ordered when I did. My souped up MacPro which cost me 10X more than what I paid for my souped up M3 Ultra is on its very last legs. Mac Studio M3 96GB has moved to shipped and will be here in a few days. Ordered it in May with a July estimated delivery so 3-4 weeks ahead of ETA.

Is the charge posted or just pending? Apple might have run an approval against your card without actually posting the charge. See if it actually posts or disappears from pending charges in a few days.

My wallet is happy, I'm not that much. Not the end of the world, though. My 2022 M1 Max Mac Studio is still performing very well so I'm gonna wait until the M5 Max, or maybe M6? Mac Studio is released.

Same here, i am still on the M1 Max Mac Studio and it still is doing its job. So i am going to wait it out and see what will happen in the fall. I am thinking Apple may opt to skip M5 for studio and mini and go straight to M6 generation for those devices. Just my feeling with this but we shall see what happens in the coming months.....

My "temporary" purchase of a cheap 512/16 M5 MBP with 2TB external SSD is looking more and more like genius.
Yeah, I think overall people choosing to grab waht they can turned out to be a smart move.

I purchased mine Studio last year, and while the rampocalypse hadn't happen, I was on the fence to buy then or wait a year

Yes there's irony (and hypocrisy) in my using AI to create an image decrying the ram pricing we're seeing

I really want to get a 512GB ram Studio (want to run a 380GB model), but I can't imagine what that is going to cost now... any guesses?

You do know that laptops can be connected to monitors and keyboards, don‘t you?
I agree with your sentiment, to a point.

I used a MacBook Pro M1 for my work as a software engineer for years (until I retired two years ago). When equating performance then laptops are rather more expensive than desktops. That part didn't bother me since my company purchased it for me. The other disadvantage for me using a laptop for desktop duties is that desktop space is at a premium, since I have two 32" 4K monitors taking up much of the usable space. My Mac Mini, and even a Studio take up less desktop space, even though I had my laptop upright in clamshell mode on a stand.
