These are the LG and Samsung profiles that my Spyder 4 created for my family's macbooks. I hope that they help someone. Let me know what you think.
I have to say that I like the LG profile. Using it right now, thanks!

So is mine a defective unit?
Good call! That's exactly what it was. I changed it back to the stock, and it was bluish, instead of pinkish. I wonder why the Samsung monitor shows no color tint. So am I correct in saying that this is NOT a defective panel? It's the calibration file... Change to another one and you will see that it's not pink.

Where can I find this image to run on my computer?
When I got done with the calibration, the spyder software said that I had 65% of RGB on both the Samsung and the LG. Perhaps it has something to do with that? I read somewhere that colors weren't extremely accurate on these things.

The zip file contains executable file. Could you please let me know, how can I use this file as color profile? Am I missing something?

I find and people are also reporting the standard ICC profile which comes with Mountain Lion a lot better with the LG display. It think the OS is now smart enough to activate an ICC profile based on which screen panel it recognizes. Here are some comparison photos of my 2012 LG MBA and the 2012 Samsung MBA on display at the local Apple Store

My LG is so washed out, hurts my eyes, and the custom profiles are a crutch in comparison to the beautiful Samsung display
Guys I also compared screens today at the Apple store and the difference was shocking. The LG one didn't even look like it was switched on!
See attachment...

The mods should commit a mercy killing and close this thread. Now we have people posting links to pictures they took, that people will be viewing on their LG|Samsung|whatever LCD screen as if that's some kind of proof Samsung is better. CLUE: The pictures can't look any better than the screen the viewer has. What are the odds that the same people who see a dramatic difference between a Samsung and an LG LCD also believe their Macs are 'snappier' after a clean install?
just drop them in the usual colorsync folder and they will appear in the display profile settings.
the title of this thread
LG vs Samsung
Versus means competition, which one is better, samsung or LG... Not which one you have, otherwise, it would be a POLL, should being answered in that specific field!
Just want to share the best LG profile i've ever seen... Using it on my 2012 11' MBA... Comparing to my wife's Samsung screen, mine looks even better...
