he got the DDR2 macbook

Nope. I ordered a unibody.

And Slovig is right -- this is where I ordered my DDR3 4GB kit. It's a great price for Crucial memory! Please note that as of 22 Feb, the price is $63.99 but there is a $10 discount applied for everyone (no code needed). But who knows how long this discount will last.

yea i keep wanting to pull the trigger but it seems like every week the price goes down

Prices are always falling, but at $53.99 for 4GB of DDR3 memory, I would go ahead and upgrade. Waiting another month or two might only save you 5 or 10 bucks. I would think that upgrading now is worthwhile.

Now comes the hard part -- waiting for Big Brown to arrive with my new toy! :D

I was using my computer last night with no lights. I looked at my keyboard and then I couldn't see the keys. I was sad for a moment there. :(

I KNOW!!! That happens to me as well.. it's like a little burst of panic ;) but then with the touch of a finger it comes back to life!!! muahahaha :p

This Thursday I will be for the first time since I got it after I ordered it the 16 october physically away from my Macbook for more then 24h. I'm selling it. For a pretty great price, 1500$. I'm getting a MBP that will more likely fit my needs, after all I'm graphic design student, and the crappy little screen of the MB is not that great for me. I'm getting a new, stronger computer, but even with that, the selling of this computer give me a bad feeling.

It's not only my first computer, it's also my first personal computer EVER. Before that all that I had was a win95 box and a AMD Box that was brought when XP went out. They were desktops and used by all the family. This Mac was my own computer, I was soo happy to get it when it was delivered. Now I'm selling to somebody I don't know, to never see it again. I see now that this computer has more value then money alone. Just hope that the Pro brings the same feelings I got with this Macbook when I first got it :)

God, I'm speaking about a computer there. I should go out more often :/

Hey guys quick question. I have had my MacBook for about a week and I love it. I have been a windows user for years and I am slowly learning about the OS X system. I was wondering is there a site that can give me tutorials and help so I can quickly get up to speed about the in and out of the Mac OS. Thanks in advance everyone.

how is $1500 a good price

thats how much it is brand new with the student discount

sell it for $1350
thats a decent price

why would he think he can get $1500 for a 4 month used macbook

Because that's @ canadian pricing, and that I found someone who gave me this offer already. I'm meeting him this Tuesday.

2.4GHz: 1750$ - Student pricing rebate: 100$ (canadian) = ~1900$ with taxes (Quebec: -> 12% taxes) by the way.

Hello everyone,

Just picked up the macbook in my sig a few days ago, its been a great machine so far, OS X is an amazing OS and I can't believe I didn't switch sooner. The power of the included apps such as Garage Band, iPhoto and Time Machine is so much better than anything I've ever seen. I did cause it to kernel panic when Disk Utility locked up in the middle of a partitioning an external disk, but I fixed the issue and it hasn't been a problem since. On another note, this computer is so well built and powerful that I can see it lasting me five years , I've never felt this attached to a computer.

Congrats! I know how you feel. I've never developed such an attachment to a piece of hardware before. It's weird and great all at the same time!

just got my first mac a few weeks ago, unibody 2.4 ghz 2GB 250HD, and absolutely love it....BUT...its giving me fits when i try to connect to my schools network...it keeps saying I have a self assigned IP address and won't let me connect to the internet

I just got this thing but am discouraged about this problem...anyone have any suggestions? (resetting the router or doing anything to the router is out of the question because they are hidden throughout the library)

You will love your MBP, my son has a new one. How long do you have to wait until you get it?

Look like it might take more time then I through. Look like the guy do not want my MB anymore. He said he's going to get a refurbished, but Apple canada does not give Refurbished Mac with canadian french keyboards, and charges taxes on it. I'm arguing with I'm on a new price, waiting on a reply from him.

If all went well I would have got my MBP around the 7th march

Sorry to hear that. You finally make the decision to let go and then that. Another buyer will come along.

I hope. Waiting on his reply if he changed his mind. It's gonna be really hard to write anything with an english keyboard, the french keyboard have different keys, like the (çàéèù), and easily accessible accents (,'.;:^¨) that are used a lot more in french. I don't give much hope on him through.

The really bad thing about it is that I might not even afford the Macbook Pro now. 1500$ was an awesome price, and with the ADC discount I was just in need of around 540 bucks, that I pretty much have. Look like now that I will really need to sell things now to afford the upgrade... urgh.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Apple sucked me in with an iPhone 3G last summer. Now I'm among those ditching my PC at home for an Aluminum MB. I have several coworkers who are Mac users so they are constantly bragging.

After several hours of use on my first day with the MB, I know why they are bragging. Bang up job on the OS. This is one sweet machine. Its been thought out in every way imaginable. I ordered a 2.4ghz only for the backlit keyboard. I ordered my MB with 2gb of RAM and have 4gb on order, should be here Friday.

This thing is SICK!!!
