Oh wow, the elusive FW400 port you tease 
Wish it had it because I am thinking of buying out of owc mercury on the go, seagate freeagent go mac, western digital my studio passport or lacie rugged
All 4 are external portable usb hard drives, but they also have*firewire* ports

It's been two months since I've been using MB 2.0 Alum. and it's simply amazing. Never had any problems from the first day I bought it. Read through each and every sentence in this forum - great forum, by the way!
Like some of you, I try to keep the notebook as sleek and clean as possible.
By the way, I'm in Singapore and we had a great IT Fair here. Also, going to upgrade to a 4gb ram in June (another big IT Fair). Probably, will get better deal. I love the BBC Widgets in it and have passed the XP operating system laptop to my friend.

Tomorrow i am going back to exchange my 15" unibody mbp for a 13" unibody macbook. 2.4 ghz on both of them.
Do ANY OF YOU THINK I WILL NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCE SPEED WISE. I JUST DO THE MOST BASIC OF ACTIVITIES ON THIS COMPUTER. JUST SEARCHING THE WEB, MUSIC DOWNLOADING. SPREADSHEETS AND SOME PHOTO EDITING HERE AND THERE.

There is no difference speed wise between the two. I did the exact opposite and returned my alu macbook 2.4 for a macbookpro. The major difference other than the screen size is that the screen on the macbook is much poorer in quality. On the macbook, the colors are vibrant only when you look at the screen from right in front of you. Look at the screen from the side and the colors are muddled.
The video card is not as powerful on the mb and you will lose a firewire port as well.
Just purchased a 2.4GHz model with the friends and family discount from a buddy wh works at the apple store. 15% off beats my education discount handily. The price was knocked down to ~1350, then another 100 back on for tax, puts me at 1450, plus ~50 for 4gb of ram from newegg

I got my 2.0/4GB earlier today. Of course, I had friends in town from Paris who wanted to have dinner tonight. So, I'm finally home to spend some quality time with my newest bestest friend.
Who knew I could miss a machine so much.
Questions yet to be answered:
-which external monitor? I'm looking at the HP W2408
-TimeCapsule? I'm currently using the Netgear WGR614 v7 and a 500GB MyBook (which I'd like to continue using for storage)
-MediaLink to hook up with the PS3? (the 30 minute trial really wasn't enough. what ever happened to the 30 DAY trial, people?)
The challenge ahead:
-accessing the drives of my PowerBook G4 and iMac G4 (they served me well) via a USB enclosure (they both get stuck at the blue screen and their CD/DVD drives don't work).

Call FedEx and see if there is a problem ... They can usually give you more detailed info than the online tracking service.
I wonder how long they deliver till...until everything on the truck is gone? It's now approaching 6pm...
Well, during the week they can come as late as 8p. Saw a UPS truck make a delivery that late, just a few nights ago. I've had FedEx deliveries as late as 7:30, so hang in there and do call to find out if the driver didn't accidentally get hung up at a bar somewhere.
It's worth the wait!

Hey, not sure if this goes here, but didn't think it warranted a new thread. How do you get rid of the Firefox icon that is on the main screen? Not the icon at the bottom, but the shortcut icon. My hubby said he put it in the Trash, but then he had to reinstall Firefox over again. Sorry, total Mac n00b.

Doesn't dragging it to Trash work? Reinstalling probably put it back again on the desktop. BTW, if it's a shortcut icon it has a tiny arrow on the bottom.
Come to think of it, I believe you're referring to the .dmg (virtual disk) that is used to install Firefox. Dragging that to the Trash also removes it from your desktop, no harm done.

seems a lot of a newcomers to computers and apple in general get the UMB.
i got mine over the previous gen of alu' 2.2GHz MBP's...
anyway - good luck everyone with your problems. you might want to research a little around the forums instead of adding noise to a specific thread.
if you need help use MRoogle - and if it's not on there, try different phrasing.
if you reaeaaally can't find it (which i'm sure most of the basics are easy to find on MR) use google and post a new thread stating your problem and how you need to fix it or how you found to fix it!
