Aaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

Those pictures make me want to; leave the library, forget about studying, run home, and tear open the packaging of my new MacBook. Why do u have to tempt me like that

LMAO! Stop torturing the kid! :D

When is your MBP due?

Sometime this week. Down here in Aus we still need to get the new Macbook Pros in stock at the resellers (such as Domaye and Mac1), although they've already got the new Macbooks, which is strange.....

I've already ordered a MBP at Domayne, and as soon as they arrive they'll ring me!

Hopefully soon! :D

Hope you get it soon! These new MBs and MBPs rock!

I'm terrible. I upgraded my desktop a few days ago to the 24" 2.8 iMac and then today also picked up the new 2.4 MB.

To think that I only switched to Mac last September! Now I have these two Macs, as well as the 3G iPhone and a 160GB :apple:TV ( I had an MBA for a short while and sold that to buy a Cervelo)

I shouldn't be lusting after this stuff at 53 :)

Ha! Just did almost exactly the same thing. Had MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz (from last summer), but it had some graphics card issues. So I had it repaired at the Apple Store, sold it on eBay, then bought a 24" 2.8 iMac + 2.0 MacBook aluminum. And I'm loving both! Having them sit next to each other is AWESOME! and the Macbook is so much more portable and solid feeling than my old Pro. Right now I'm running XP on my Macbook, but I will go back to the better OS soon, after I finish updating with all of Microsoft's patches!

The unboxing was un-believable! Much more fun than the old laptop casings.

Your so lucky you have one (by the looks of it, I think you have one..) If I were unboxing one of the new MacBook Pros, I would be so amped up, I'd have to run a couple of laps around my front yard after I unboxed it. :)

Lol, i got to unbox 3 of them, two of which were right there in Best Buy in order to check them out. :) How lucky am I?! But it's something else when you get home and get to fire up that puppy... I'm so happy with it!!
I really don't know how else to put it... it's a BEAUTIFUL (esthetically and mechanically) thing!! :) hahaha :D

My goodness, if I had to unbox three, I would be running so many laps I would get asthma!

just a quesiton...so far im loving my macbook
however i do have a concern...
my keys do look a little slanted but more than anything... my keys are smooth and soft except for my spacebar. it has a really annoying licking sound compared to the rest of the keys which are virtually silent...

anybody else have this problem?
i might go into the apple store to see if this is the case with all of them because if the other keys are silent why cant the space bar be :|?
its reallly annoying to have 1 click-typing-1 click.

I don't get what you're saying. The spacebar on mine makes a little bit louder of a noise, but that's only because it is bigger..

Mine seems to be doing the same thing depending on how i press it.. I think the extra noise comes just from the fact that it's larger than the other keys, thus not as stable. Mine feels a little loose and actually it hasn't bothered me thus far.
If that's your only concern, unless it's worse than I'm realizing, I wouldn't worry about it.

Mine's loose, and makes a different noise, like I said up above, because of the fact of its size.

well, its official. I am now a MacBook owner. This device beats all of my expectations by far. It screams quality and fulfills my technical cravings. This device has so much design beauty that my Desktop cant compete. I wasn't really in the market for a new computer, let alone a laptop, but I would rather sell my plasma over this machine.

Lets start from the beginning. Windows user all of my life, but working on macs for friends and work for years. Bought the 2.0ghz MacBook - upgraded the memory to 4gb and upgraded the HD to 250GB. But....I thought it came with the Backlit keyboard... I was wrong, well actually the Apple Store was wrong. The next day I learned the Backlit keyboard was an error on their website, so I called the 1800 Apple number and they gave me a couple of options, so I recieved $150 off plus $100 epp discount and went with the 2.4ghz 4gb ram and standard 250GB hd for only $1560.

Coming from Vista is a little challenging, I actually think Vista is a great system, I have yet to lose data and my Desktop screams speed and power. But now I have my MacBook which works even faster and cleaner.

A couple of Mac Apps I have found to make OSX the sh1z are:
Firefox http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/?from=getfirefox
MultiCluch http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/27016/multiclutch adds multi touch swipe to firefox and every other app
FoxMarks http://www.foxmarks.com/
Adium http://www.adiumx.com/
iStat Pro Widget http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/status/istatpro.html
Wallsaver http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/justforfun/wallsaver.html
Growl w/Growl Tunes http://growl.info/
Qucksilver http://quicksilver.en.softonic.com/mac

If you guys have any must have apps, can you please point me in a direction?
Thanks! So, if you are just reading on this thread, enough reading - go get one, you can always return it if its just not for you. 8)

WELCOME! It's great to see other people experiencing the same sensations when coming over to the Dark Side :) I also came from Vista, but the simplicity and preciseness of the Mac OS is mind blowing!
Enjoy your new toy! I know it won't disspoaint you ;)

Weird Screen Lockup ??

Has anyone else had any problems upgrading to 4GB of RAM? I got a new 2.4Ghz Alum Macbook two days ago. I purchased 4GB of memory from Fry's (Patriot Brand - never heard of them before). Anyway after the upgrade my MB has locked up twice, both times during a time machine backup. Also the screen was black except for about an inch across the top where i could see the desktop. I've just reinstalled the original 2GB of memory to see if i can make it happen again but was wondering if anyone else has seen the same behavior.

well yea mine is really annoying me.
the clicking sound after every word i type. the words are smooth just this click is annoying me.
i understand the space bar is bigger but i have a wired and wireless aluminum apple keyboard and it doesn't do this.

ill take it in tomorrow. i mean i paid 1800$ for this thing i would like it to be near perfect and not annoyed haha just wondering if this was common!

I had the Apple Store upgrade mine to 4gb when I bought it, and I haven't had any problems so far. That's very odd. Maybe it does have something to do with the brand of the RAM?

P.S.- The more I use this track pad, the more I love it! It's so unbelievably smooth I just want to touch it all day long (that's what she said).
