New MBP.
I love this JR dude, whoever he is.

nice, but im not liking the glossy screen

We don't even know the real price points and/or specs yet?

But look at Apple's price and specs now.

Apple laptop sales have increased dramatically while all others have dropped.

Honestly, we all know the $1999 15" MBP won't be any better than that $1400 15" HP I posted earlier, if that good.

And with the economy of recent days, Apple will no longer be able to get away with its very high profit margins.

Damn that MBP looks really nice. If the MB looks like a 13" version of that I'll be very happy from an aesthetics standpoint.

I believe it will look pretty much the same, given that the bottoms look identical. But to answer your question, SirOmega, I prefer the smaller footprint. Fifteen is too big for airplane trays.

check this source this looks like the real thing

if that's accurate... it's nice,but.... glossy screen for MBP? i sure hope to hell there's a matte screen option.

Did anyone notice there is no button on that picture? Or am I mistaken?

so much for my Matte decision

they should be legally forced to change the name from MacBook Pro to MacBook "Pro".

this thing better have some seriously mindblowing specs or i'm going to be very disappointed.

the wost part is its still better than any PC money can buy, so while i'm not "forced" to buy it, if i want a top of the line, portable apple computer, i'm "forced" to buy it.

this BETTER work with my current, matte cinema display

Time for 2 macbooks

Haven't read the whole thread, but I have a theory:

The $899 Macbook = today's mid level or entry level with a super drive
The $1299 Macbook = lot's of upgrades on ala the blackbook, perhaps bluray
$1599 Macbook = 15" macbook

But i think there could be a 15" at the $1299 price point. I think apple is going back to 2 screen choices in the consumer family.

Here's to 15" macbooks!

(and dedicated nvidia everywhere!)

latest pic to break

hot, interesting that it's all gesture now (i can surmise...) with no click button for the trackpad. maybe there's haptic feedback?

I don't know if it's fake but things that make the picture fake looking..

1. no click button unless thats new...
2. no power button
3. BLUR! that's one thing you usually see with fakes
4. wtf is the white ghostly stuff around the top left?
5. the MacBook Pro script at the bottom looks very blurry and too bright, looks pasted there

discount at best buy

....The education discount should be a valid question as should the question of whether that discount works at Best Buy... ;)

I work at best buy. best buy policy is such that the student discount on Apples is at the discretion of the General Manager. We haven't always matched Apple's discount, and my store may or may not presently or in the future. Most likely if a Best Buy is near an Apple store, they will do something. but if you are a savvy shopper, you will get the Matching discount at Best Buy and use their 0% interest for 18 months....that trumps any Apple store's offer.

That sounds a little more reasonable as far as pricing vs. features. The previous posters' guesstimates have been WAY too high.

I just like the black around the screen. Even if its glossy i don't care. Plus the Al case.

Missing button WTF? Thats um... odd. Maybe the touchpad is like that new BB Storm phone where you can push down a little and get a click sensation on the entire pad.

interesting, no mouse button... So either a touch screen or more multi-touch/click on the track pad?

hmm.. touchpad for scrolling, then when you get to your entry, just tap the screen?

ok, I am going to bed and dreaming of the keynote. Note sure what to make of the no mouse button at all.

*Edit, I went back and looked at the other threads of the so-called alu case leaks.... Given what appears to be the mounding surface for the trackpad - where is the mouse button? Apple definately doing something with multi-touch here. Power button - upper right, on leaked case designs it was same color as the case ,so maybe in the blurry-ness you just can't see it.

Seems like an awful lot of trouble for photoshopping, but we know some people just have too much time on their hands.
