MacBook and MacBook Pro Part Numbers and Prices? $899 MacBook?

Does anyone think that Apple would go as low as incorporating an AMD processor in their lowest priced MacBook? Why would the model number start with a K???

Dear God, you can see where they covered up the ExpressCard hole and taped over "Mystery port"! Do you people seriously buy this garbage? It's the leaked pic photoshopped onto what may be an Air lid.


As if the massive color difference didn't tell you (look at the edges of the lid, it's not because it's lit from the top)

this pic looks VERY real. I would be happy if it was.

However, dont those keys look pretty spread appart? They are different spaced than my macbook

The Macbook is speculation on MR's part. Maybe the K means it's a different line? Like a tablet or something? Who knows, it's fun to guess though!

from Engadget: We're also told that there's not one, but two NVIDIA GPUs inside -- we're guessing an integrated / discrete setup like in some VAIOs.

Wow, nice bit of 'overbite' there at the front where the lid meets the case! This MacBook Pro needs to see a dentist and fast!

Also it's interesting that there are slightly dark areas on the side where the card slot and 'mystery port' (label) are in the leaked photos from a few days ago.

The box also appears to be a cross breed between a MacBook and MacBook Pro box, white box with black handle? No, it doesn't work for me.

Bring out Senator Vreenak, it's a fake!!!

feel free to call me out. ive been registered on here for over 5 years so im not going anywhere right or wrong. but im still telling you its fake.
 
The $899 macbook would probably be very low speced. Compare this to the iPod line.

iPod Shuffle --- MacBook ---?
iPod Nano --- MacBook
iPod Touch --- MacBook Air
iPod Classic --- MacBook Pro

This $899 MacBook must be tagerted for basic use only. Maybe like a fatter MacBook Air with cheaper components inside. (No CD Drive, Small Hard Drive, Slow Processor (Maybe not Centrino 2), integrated graphics, 1 or 2 GB ram, less ports, But very cheap.)

We'll see tomorrow...
 
i don't know much about GPUs, is there a major difference between an NVIDIA integrated and the current setup in MBs? I had assumed that the new MBs would have independent GPUs.

This is what bothers me (my friend does this all the time). It would be a lot easier to just say, "I really think it's a fake". Or, "I'm telling you it's a fake. Here is a photo of the real one/I'm actually Steven Jobs and I know for a fact it's fake". It's easy to just say "It's fake" with no reason and then when/if it turns out it is fake you can easily say, "See, I told you" because this is a forum and even if you're wrong I doubt people will *really* care.

That's low-priced, but not "cheap" at all.

And 4.12 pounds!
 
One last post...

I mean it this time, but I just thought of why no mouse button....

Everyone loves the wacom tablet right? What if Steve-0 took away the mouse button, and gave us a wacom-like in the trackpad?? :D:D:D:D

and the extra round hole is to hold your stylus (with a thick end for the eraser, like the wacom)...

that would just be awesome..................

JR's pictures are very inconsistent..

I like what I see.. but why not take a picture that shows the full thing? Freaking sideways views and over the top views. This isn't an emo picture for God's sake.
