New MBP.
I love this JR dude, whoever he is.

Yuk! Not impressed! God, what a tacky look!

Do we think this is a chicklet keyboard like that on the current macbooks?

I *heart* that keyboard. Hope they are keeping it!!

im as a big an apple fan as anyone but i dont have to point out all the obvious. these pics are fake, they're good and well timed of course but they're not of whats coming tomorrow.

I've read through the two 1500+ threads and this one but seems like no one has mentioned this: What's Steve gonna do during the keynote? I mean so far we know for sure that there will be a new MB and MBP coming with some new prices. Assuming the keynote is the usual one hour length, there is no way Steve can use up the whole hour just to announce those.

John Mayer plays for 45 minutes...

Still a little bit exciting though, isn't it? (And no, I'm not saying that a new product from a company I have nothing to do with is *actually* exciting, but for people that spend any amount of time on these forums and reading MR, it's fun to have late 'leaks', real or not, like these)

Nice...

I mean it this time, but I just thought of why no mouse button....

Everyone loves the wacom tablet right? What if Steve-0 took away the mouse button, and gave us a wacom-like in the trackpad?? :D:D:D:D

and the extra round hole is to hold your stylus (with a thick end for the eraser, like the wacom)...

that would just be awesome..................

I'm impressed with your idea! Best one I have heard yet...:)

yeah i love it as much as anyone else, love and hate it at the same time. the cheaper macbook is what really interests me though. i have a macbook pro and an iphone and i find myself dangerously close to being able to do most of what i want with just taking my iphone. if there was something between the two, or a better iphone then thats what i want.

I've fed up with Apple's overemphasis on design and "thinness" at the cost of good specs and reasonable prices.

OK, Beric. I have heard this rant from you before but what I would like to know is what performance spec is the MBP seriously lacking in? I realize that the current model is pricey for the outdated spec that it currently contains but it is being updated soon.

However, when the MBP was last updated in March what spec was it deficient in at that time.

Apple is using the fastest mobile processor that intel offered in March. The discrete GPU while not the fastest back in March was still an above average mobile GPU.

Blu-ray could have been offered in March but Apple wasn't ready yet and it probably would have required the case redesigned which was planned for tomorrow.

I'm no photography expert, but is it possible for a photo to be HALF blurry? It seems like this picture is much blurrier on the left than on the right. I already doubt it based on the other picture of the "lid closed overbite" but I was just curious about the blurriness.

Oddly enough, that's exactly where I am. When I head home (or anywhere on the road) I take my phone and can stream my media to my phone (audio and video) and then onto my TV, I can (finally) use a reliable IM program, I can browse the web and listen to music. I'd love to get rid of my MBP and get a desktop that was always on (and had a huge hard drive rather than a laptop that is tethered by USB drives) but I don't want to lose the portability of my MBP. I'd love something that was smaller and cheaper than the current MB, than I could purchase a desktop (imac hopefully) and the new small laptop to take with me everywhere (like my phone)

New Pro!

or is this just the old one? I don't own a Pro but that is Apples homepage? Maybe I just got to excited! Sorry

Apple is all about 'sexy'. Case closed.

If you get aroused over a laptop, please see a professional.

(And not a "pro" in the Apple sense of "someone who'll pay 40% extra for the same machine with the label 'pro' on it".)

I'm pretty sure that most people would rather a slot-loading drive over a tray drive.

Cheaper and more durable/flexible over more expense and less durable/flexible - of course we all want to pay more for less!

It seems that you're in the wrong place as this is a Mac-centric forum and you're in a thread about new hardware.

I hate tray drives. I would much rather have a slot loader any day.

did anyone else see update 2 on engadget? I find it hard to blieve now, their saying only 15" gets updated, not mb and 17", and 15" gets dual nvidia gfx cards
