I don't buy it. If Apple brings out a television, it'll be just like the Cubeexpensive and it won't sell very well. It'll probably be LCD so you're ignoring 70% of the market for watching movies. Anyone who's serious about movies uses a plasma or has their home theater setup with a projector. And then there's the issue of size. One size doesn't fit all; I can't see Apple bringing out multiple sizes either.B. New Cinema displays and a possible TV would have HDMI
A consumer product having bleeding-edge technology? Sorry, that's not going to happen. It'll happen on the MBP first if anything. As far as the Macbook not having firewire. I believe what people think is USB 2.0 is actually USB 3.0.
as i don't use USB for editing - can anyone here attest if connecting a video camera thru USB and a USB ext hdd is effective for capturing and then editing video?
3D cad? on mac? which? how? where? why? gimme!
i cannot wait any longer!!
time to take some sleeping pills and sleep for 2 days
On OSX I use a program called SolidThinking Vantage. As a designer it's great, but if you are more of a 'numbers' type, it's not as exact as SolidWorks. I find it to be quick and easy to use. For simpler stuff, my MB handles it well. However, with larger projects it bogs down and when rendering images it gets slow and jerky. Since I am a student, the program was cheap and I have had great support from the company. At retail, it is still cheaper than SolidWorks and you don't need to install Windoze on your machine!
Hello MBP!
After staring at the pics again, looks like ethernet ports are there to me...oops.
I believe they will be releasing a touch screen product tomorrow.
never mind all this USB, F/W stuff, where's my ADB port!?
Still keeping my old beige keyboard just in case!
(I have a Mac Pro, but the new keyboard is like typing on a piece of toast)
This brings up a question that I've been trying to understand for a couple of days...Why does everyone think backlit keyboards are so great? I mean do people look at the keyboard that much? And even so doesn't your screen even on lowest setting light up the keyboard enough to see it?
I have nothing against backlit keyboards, and I've never used one, but I've also never said "Man, I wish I had a backlit keyboard" so I'd just like to get an understanding on this.
You can't transfer DV video to a computer over USB. It simply cannot be done. The only thing you can transfer are inferior, compressed formats that are recorded to memory, rather than tapes, like MPEG.
Given the shoddy "tapemanship" over the mystery-hole, is there a general consensus that it was intentionally taped-over (not tape left on from the factory)? Also, has anyone determined that there is anything under it (not just PSd or tape colored to look like there is something behind it)?
I don't get it either. I never ever look at my keyboard. Regardless, there are people who are passionate about backlit. This brings up a question that I've been trying to understand for a couple of days...Why does everyone think backlit keyboards are so great? No cup holder? Epic fail, Apple.
Sure would be cool if they sold a product that could be used as a laptop or a desktop, a la Mac Mini. $600.00 for the 'brick' and you get what's essentially a Mac Mini. $800 gets you the same thing with a bright, sharp, fully detachable 13" display. Not that I would be in a position to know...I just like leaving cryptic comments.
