No.But I'm guessing Apple engineers like to watch all the commotion about future products. It gives them something to laugh about. And that helps morale.
Peace, do you see 16:10 or 16:9 ratio MacBooks in the future? :D

Brick? Glass Touchpad?

If the new MacBook is rumored to have a glass touchpad, maybe the code name is a reference to "glass brick".

I like this explanation - perhaps it is a rather comical new code name! We know what apple are like at poking fun at Microsoft...

Yup - thats exactly what I thought of when I heard the code name 'brick'. A 'brick' through 'windows' as in a windows killer.

Not sure what a 'windows killer' product will be. Possibly a great laptop form factor for the next MacBook or possibly a tablet or tablet/laptop hybrid?

If the brick name reflects its form factor it might be an Apple wifi home server running a consumer version of OSX Server. That would be awesome for managing iTunes and TimeMachine backups.

Bricked MacBook!

It means you have to activate your macbook through iTunes. If incase you install other OS not through bootcamp it will become useless.LOL! Beware copycats like Psystar and more others comng soon.

Brick, the thickest Mac laptop ever? :p

Hopefully.

The current Apple laptops are way too thin. They thus get way too hot for simple tasks, and have much worse specs than other laptops as well.

Thinness is the number one limiting issue of Mac laptops, and I'd like to see it go bye (on everything except the Macbook Air).

I wonder if we are really all a bunch of fat slobs stuffing our faces with potato chips while we read up on macrumors and theorize about bricks...

The current Mac laptops would be just fine with 12" iBook G4 thickness.

I've never handled an iBook G4; is it similar thickness to an iBook G3 (white, not clamshell)?

I honestly believe that thinness is a major problem for Apple. Weight is actually the major factor, and even that I can easily let slide. But how hot my Macbook gets simply running Safari (with no flash) for 2 hours I cannot let slide. If the Macbook and Macbook Pro were thicker, they could have a MUCH better cooling system, the MBP could have dual HDD's, The Macbook could easily handle a mid-ranged GPU and the MBP a very high-end one, ect. And while the looks of an Apple laptop really aren't a factor for me, who says Apple couldn't make them look good while thicker?

Thinness on the MB and MBP don't really accomplish anything and cause a lot of problems and compromises to happen. It's time to reduce thinness now.

I cant speak for everyone, but i try to consume less than 1000 calories a day, so I can say we arent ALL fat slobs stuffing our faces with potato chips.

Wow, that's hardly anything!

I have a 3,000 calorie diet, and yet I'm skinnier than most anyone. I'm also quite active, except, of course, at my computer. ;) I also eat a well-balanced diet.

We aren't all fat here at MR.

Is that part of the restricted calorie diet philosophy? And what part of CT are you from?

God the wait is just killing me, either we are just hyping ourselves up majorly (the forums are on fire tonight!) or there really is something coming.
