Wow!

Acronym, windows-breaker, power-brick, tablet, docking station, aluminum form, and so on...

All Apple has to do is drop one word, and absolutely wild speculation blooms in so many different ways.

This is the stuff religious wars are made of.

Apple has the best fanbase in the world.

Maybe the macbook will have no optical drive.

An optical base will hook onto the bottom.

Like how bricks lock together?

I think that Brick is an anagram. The imac received upgrades to its ram, bus speed, and other stuff. So Brick could mean upgrades like b is for bus speed, r is for ram, i is for illumination (led displays), c is for chipset, k is for keyboards. I would like b to stand for blu-ray but I think that is wishful thinking.

You mean acronym. An anagram is when one rearranges the letters in a word to become another word.

^ Return of the Pismo? Modular drive bays? Brick…might also mean we are finally getting a G5 notebook.

I'll take (2) but only if it comes with wheels... LOL :p

I don't think I would mind that so long as the external drive comes with the computer. I mean how often do we use are optical drives while on the go anyways?

The glass trackpad as a 'brick' doesn't make sense (unless its removable -- might as well just put my iPhone in it). I suggest the brick is a power/charger device that doubles as USB hub, or it could be a separate wireless USB device, maybe with other functionality, like a dock.
I like the acronym idea for something like BRCK or BRICK, but I can't seem to come up with anything that makes sense out of it.

I think its something like this http://www.electronista.com/articles/08/09/08/sony.vaio.usb.dock.station/ ...its even referred to as a brick in the article.

When I think of brick, I think of something the size of a brick ie the mac mini. Or perhaps it's just wishful thinking on my part because I'm desperate for one :D

Maybe a removable trackpad--like a combination of ipod touch and apple remote. I'm not sure that would be useful, but it could be an interesting way of locking your mac.

If the trackpad turns out to be glass, which I think is pretty possible, then what if the "brick" is the trackpad, and it is detachable. For instance you can detach it and use it ad either some form of remote, second screen away from the actual computer, etc to launch apps etc. Additionally while in the computer bay it charges, has quick launch buttons for different apps of your choice, etc.

maybe my brick acronymtheory could be wrong. with the increased bus speed and ram, more heat would be produced as well as more battery consumption. apple seems to be against those ideas, however, maybe the lower power consumption of the montevina processor and led screen saves enough energy for the extra energy expenditure of the bus speed and ram.
