I have been talking about what their next killer products might be
I think this finalizes it
-iTablet:apple:
-Mac Book w/ large secondary touch screen that doubles as a key board:apple:
-Same thing with MBP:apple:
-USB Touch keyboard for iMacs and Mac Pros:apple:
All these things are just options you can still have the original (none touch)stuff for a whole bunch cheaper

This my friends will send a brick through Windows
No other PC manufacturer will be able to produce touch screens at the same low price a apple, I can already see the market share rising:apple:
Show us APple:cool:

In hartford county lol.
And yeah, I guess, there were many things i considered when i started to reduce how much i ate, life span (which i imagine is what you were referring to), weight, health, etc... Basicly tho, I eat when Im hungry, and i dont when im not, and try to eat a good variety of things. Im also a vegetarian lol, so i dunno what `diet` im trying to follow, just basically a minimalist healthy one i guess lol.:p
wethersfield here mate.

I like Macenstein's theory. How do you really mess with Windows though?

Official Mac OS X for PC, ($299 and serialized to protect Apple's hardware profits, of course.)

WHY?

What is it about the "Mac OS X por PCs" fantasy that atracts so many people.

Look, Apple sells hardware that people buy because of OS X. So, selling OS X for PCs is no win. This has been proven a dozen times. Please, stop saying that.

Apple will never sell nor license Mac OS X for PCs. Ever.

wow, this thread really shows how desperate we really are. Its only been in the last hour that suddenly this thread has exploded. It only shows how desperate we really are.

TAKE NOTICE APPLE.

We're always like this. What's new?

Brick gone?

I am in agreement with the many posters that it is all about "the vanishing" brick. Perhaps something similar (if not identical) to the iPhone power adapter.

call me an elitist, but I hope apple keeps their price points around the same. I like being different. If the new Apple products become cheaper, it will change Apple's high-end image into a run of the mill manufacturer.

I certainly hope they lower their prices a bit. You can still be elitist in the fact that you can probably use OS X much better than some other punk that bought a Macbook because it's "hip".

But don't be price elitist.

I suppose it could be that rumored UMPC-sized mini-tablet people keep posting Photoshop mock-ups of. Those are about the length and width of a brick, though not the depth.

alright i only had one question

what do you guys think the odds of a macbook touch being real and thats what is coming out october 14th?

because i really do not want that, and i would rather buy the macbooks that are out right now.

I doubt it! But, you'll still have that option for awhile after their debut. Don't sweat it! ;)

Back in 1995, NeXT had a product code-named "The Brick" that never made it to market. It was a dual-CPU 68040 machine which was revolutionary at the time. This was a going to be the best-of-breed workstation workhouse in the shape of a brick. I have a feeling the new "brick" will be a Mac Mini Server kind of deal or something to fill the mid-tower gap the clones are going after.

I firmly believe that the new MacBooks will not have any detachable parts like some are mentioning (keyboards, touchpads, or even docks). To me it's a burden to carry or to keep on my desk. I want my new MacBook to be complete. Sure, I don't mind an external optical drive but everything else should stay where it is.

A power brick would seem to obvious and very underwhelming. Here's you new MacBook and GUESS WHAT!! it has no brick!!! or it comes with a magical brick that does more things than your new MacBook can!!! This doesn't seem too thrilling to me. In fact it sounds retarded.. I think many are taking the "brick" too literal.

I say it's either a new Mini replacement or it's a "Windows" breaker.

I think its something like this http://www.electronista.com/articles/08/09/08/sony.vaio.usb.dock.station/ ...its even referred to as a brick in the article.

Now, that actually would be something i could be interested in, i really think it's a gap from apple not to offer a product like that.
My desk is a mess because my macbook pro is my only computer and i have it hooked up to a 22" LCD + USB Hub + power cord + 5.1 speakers + printer + mouse + keyboard + external hard drive so a nice and elegant docking station would be extremely usefull for me (and many others i believe).

I don't think that this has something to do with this rumour tough :(

I'm sure the labs just said : Hey. Let's use the internal name "Brick" and let it slip out and watch all the weirdo's babble about it for 4 months.

That's the best theory I've heard so far.

Since I can't see the original phrasing of the "riddle", I'll guess it's one of two things:

If the Macbook update is all about the brick, I'll vote for it having something to do with the power transformer.

If event where the Macbooks will (also) be updated is all about the brick, then I'll vote for it being a Mac Mini replacement.

Call me a pragmatist, but I hope they keep their prices the same because it allows them to use higher quality components and I like stuff that doesn't break.

Word was that margins were going to go down though, so either prices are going down or costs are going up.

Bricks also serve as layers for an entire object, like a house. I wouldn't be surprised if the Brick, as Apple calls it, refers to a central hub to connect all wireless components, that far exceeds AirPort Extreme.

i am hoping it involves new batteries, my macbook is 4 months old, and already my battery is starting to loose its effectiveness. Maybe the brick is the new battery system making one charge work for like more then 2 hours (3 hours if all u do is move the mouse up and down). I use my macbook in college and i spend up to 26 hours in school a week. Its amazingly annoying to look for a outlet, especially in lecture halls. and i am a college student so buying like 2 more batteries is not in my price range.
