MacBook Unibody Sleeves : Cordura black sleeve to fit MacBook Unibody £16.00 (Lime ripstop)

Its arrived! Super fast shipping

Clickable thumbnails, see the complete stream for all pics. Perfect fit. Have to 'push' slightly to get the Macbook in but that is preferred. Not tested waterproof claim, but looking at today's weather I will soon...

What I have for my GlassBook:

zeroshock.jpg

Zeroshock laptop sleeve - These are composed of a high-resistance polyurethane foam and provide excellent protection against impact. I have purchased a total of 6 of these so far (iBook, 3 MacBooks, MacBook Pro, and ThinkPad). I don't buy a laptop without one of these now.

shaggymac.jpg

ShaggyMac screen saver / keyboard cover - These lay on the keyboard and cushion the screen when the laptop is closed; preventing damage, scuffs, and other screen marks created by the keyboard. They also double as a "professional grade" optical polishing cloth...perfect for cleaning your screen. Same as with the ZeroShock...these are mandatory for me.

iCurve.jpg

iCurve stand by Griffin Technologies - Raises your laptop up to eye level, provides increased airflow underneath to keep it cool, and just looks cool. (unfortunately, these are no longer made...glad I bought mine when I did!)

If anyone is considering buying a Crumpler bag and live near one of the company stores, they're currently offering 20% if you bring in two cans of food for their holiday canned food drive. I just bought a Considerable Embarrassment bag this way. This was at their Manhattan store-I'm not sure if they're doing this everywhere. Great bag, great cause.

How good is the fit of the glassbook with the Zeroshock? I used to have the Zeroshock for my previous notebook (vaio) and love it. I'm looking for a tight snuf fit for the glassbook. Any pics u can share?

InCase vs. MacCase

I'm looking to purchase either the InCase 15" Nylon Sleeve Plus or the MacCase Jacket for the unibody MacBook Pro. Anyone have experience with either or both of these bags or how the quality compares between the two manufacturers?

Thanks

I really like the look of the Wrappers sleeves but I also want some protection in my sleeve. Is it thick enough that you would feel even slightly comfortable putting it in a backpack with nothing else in the backpack? I'm a student and that's pretty key for me. I don't want my laptop screen breaking against bumping against my back while walking. Any input you might be able to offer about the padding would be extremely appreciated! It looks like it would be comparable to the padding of a semi thick winter jacket.

just get any old case for the white macbook or blackbook and that will do. the height difference is nothing much. :D

I am a student and purchased a Knomo laptop bag from an Apple store as well so in that respect the dedicated padded laptop section is fine

It is quite thin (though they have more materials and colours if you navigate the site). Is it enough by itself? No. But in a "decent" bag? Yes. I am careful to put my bag down so my Macbook is sitting on top of everything else

It's pretty thick. I'd feel very comfy putting it in a bag by itself. A semi thick winter jacket is a pretty good comparison.

EDIT: And the outer skin, the nylon part feels very strong and durable.

Looks like LFC.SL and I are contradicting each other. I guess a definition of "thin" and "thick" is in place. Anyway, I've used Tucano Second Skins and compared to them the Wrapper sleeve is thick and durable.

I got the incase case for my MB fits well but not as well as my GF's 12" iBook case which is also incase, most MB cases now are more universal MB cases as theres is only a slight size difference between the new MB and old.
I do love the quality of Incase's products but you do pay for it with the price.

After seeing the AppleSac though i do think they look quite good. It all depends on what you need. I stick mine in a bag with a laptop compartment so an AppleSac would be too big.

Perhaps we have a different perception of "winter" :D

We do actually agree that the sleeve is thick enough to put into a bag

What I was saying was I would not be comfortable using the sleeve alone without a bag

:)

Thanks for the info from both of you. I'm going to go ahead and put my order in.

I would like to know this is well. I love the Air Incase sleeve without the zippers...

Anyone??

I have one and its great! it expands enough for new MB, yes its a snug fit but that is what i was going for. the only think that i could complain about is that there is a small gap where you would but the notebook in. its about 1/2" or so, not bad if you as me

The gap doesn't sound like such a big deal. I kind of figured there would be a gap since the MB is thicker. Is there any way you could take some quick pics for us?

Thanks!

I tried slipping the new macbook in the air sleeves at the apple store a few weeks ago. One of the employees got a lil upset, but i got answers to my questions heh.
anyway, although it manages to fit, it looks pretty bad..and it's a very tight squeeze. i wouldn't recommend it. i tried both the neoprene and perforated slim sleeve.

I ended up just getting the older incase sleeve for the white/black book.
it's a lil' loose, but i guess it works... =\

Thanks Dann for posting that.

I was going to bring my MB to Best Buy and try it, but I think I will just stick with the regular MB case now.

i'm pretty sure there are some on http://www.amazon.com ... but don't quote me on that

--- good luck.

mine was tight at first but it stretches out a little and then becomes nicer, i also tried out the MB specific one and i disliked the bagginess

here are the pic, they are from my iPhone so the quality is not that great

I got a pink incase sleeve when I bought the new macbook.
Fine as far as I can see, fits fine, I think only very anal people may think it doesn't fit due to the new macbook being a little thinner
