Exana, Corsair already has Vengeance DDR3-1600. Is it not CL10? Is CL10 better then CL9? Is the latency really that different?

EDIT: I can see it is CL10... Isn't it better then CL9?

This is the RAM I have purchased: http://www.corsair.com/en/memory-by...imm-memory-upgrade-kit-cmsx8gx3m2a1600c9.html

It will work like a beauty! You can find it a lot cheaper on Amazon like I did. (still waiting for mine to arrive!)

BTW! The latency on Mac is really important! You really need to get the right latency (timmings) here they are for MBP : 9-9-9-24.

The Vengeance by Corsair has the exact same latency.

Here it is guys! ITS WORKING ! :D

Thanks for all the feedback!
Im from Portugal, so i must save some fees and get the best deal here in Portugal. Here is what i could find selling in Portugal: http://www.alientech.pt/product_info.php?products_id=17726&utm_source=kuantokusta It is the Vengeance Corsair 2x8GB but as you can see the timings are not the same as you've posted... Will there be a problem? This is the only one i can buy, right now, here in Portugal...

EDIT: You posted the link to 2x4GB and not 2x8GB... Could you please post the exact memory you've bought so i can try to find in Portuguese stores or European Amazon resellers...
Oh, and i was talking about the new 2012 MB Pro models! Im getting the lower end soon and will get 16GB in them few months after.

Lower CL is better.

I had to buy a kit with 2 x 8GB DDR3-1600 CL10 (ref : CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10).
I did not found 8GB DDR3-1600 CL9 for Corsair in EU.

Like Dankex, would like to know exact ref. :)

I've been doing some research, and a lot of people have been saying that the Corsair RAM with latency 10-10-10-27 works fine. (thats the RAM i've got).

RAM has been working OK atm.

Well I have latency 10-10-10-27. I thought it was 9-9-9-24. I just hope CL10 latency will work OK on my MBP.

Thanks ! We will have the same memory. Default Apple DDR3-1600 is CL11 (11-11-11-28). So more RAM, same freqs and better timings. :)

I will got mine in two days.

I'm glad we will be having the same RAM! And I have spoken to someone with the same RAM as ours and hes had it for a few months and it's been working like a beauty! :)
Oh, and I've tested the RAM in Terminal using MemTest and it took about 4 hours, and it said the RAM had no problems at all. :D

Thats the exact same RAM that I have. I bought mine on the French Amazon website. :)

Has anyone tried / know if these would work?

http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product.asp?sku=10415588&mfg_part=A2Z52AA&pagemode=ca

essentially HP server memory but with the same frequency and CL-10 or 11 I believe.

Should work right?

Edit: forgot to mention that I am talking about 1x 16GB blocks meaning with those we potentially could reach the 32GB ram.

Edit: actually looking at them I think they are locked to servers as they are labelled "ECC Registered RAM" :/

No not at all, because Macs use SO-DIMMS memory sticks and thats a DIMM memory stick, it's way to long. ANd if your using a MBP you can't the max RAM is 16 GB but the Mac PRO can have 64GB RAM and the iMac can have 16GB max RAM.

You are right about the So-Dimms, but you can actually have 32GB in the new ivy bridge Macbook pro's (if you can find sticks). Sandy bridge (for the most part) had a 16gb limit, but ivy bridge upped it.

anyway does anyone have experience with these?

Oh, I didn't know the Ivy Bridge could support up to 32GB! :) The RAM you have linked is the same RAM I have purchased for my MBP, and it's great. Another MacRumors.com admin has purchased it. ;)

Awesome! Yeah I know practically 16GB is the limit it seems due to hardware supply, but in theory if you could find a so-dimm stick that's not server locked it should work.

Anyway cool! I will look into getting a pair of those soon.

Here are some pictures of the packaging and the screws to open the MBP backplate. :) (sorry about the quality had to compress the pictures)
Of course the RAM that is in the package now is the 4GB I has in my MBP before. ;)
