Here is what I found from Corsair Ram Guy (04-30-2012) :
These modules are just new and have not been added to the web site yet, but with your system as with most OEM systems they will likely not give you the option to over clock and the default of that CPU will be DDR1333. And the part number will be CMSX.

I have received and install my 16GB. :)

8GB DDR3-1600 CL11 (Apple)
Geekbench : 12 066

16GB DDR3-1600 CL10 (Vengeance)
Geekbench : 12 109
http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/804752

Lowering CL from 11 to 10 did not really change the deal. BTW, I did not expect more...

Hi,

Anyone tried this with their 2012 13" base model?

Poor student here :(

Yeah that will work just fine with your MBP.

It's funny you've only added 40+ pts on your GeekBench score, mine added about 300! And I didn't know you had the 2012 MBP 15" with the Ivy Bridge, I have the Late 2011 13" MBP w/ the Sandy Bridge. ;)

My 16GB RAM from Crucial just arrived, got it installed and received a score of 13,500 from Geekbench.

It's about 2,000 over my Mac Pro and so far I'm really happy with this since it's my first laptop.

Heres the link to the Geekbench score page.

I'll be in the same boat. I've got my 2.7ghz arriving next week, and I'm putting 16GB in it. I currently have an 8-core Mac Pro (first one, 2007) that scores around 11000 on Geekbench. I'm excited that my new laptop is potentially more powerful.

Wow, I am shocked at the difference in these benchmarks between the 2.6 and 2.7 with 16gb of ram added. A few hundred is one thing, but 1000+?? My 2.6 is on its way, but now I'm wondering whether I should have gone with the 2.7 as that is a very significant difference. I'd like to see more 2.7 maxed out configs benchmarked vs. 2.6.

I don't see how the benchmark would be that much faster on the 2.7 unless the program was somewhere between 6 and 8mb in size (the difference between the L3 cache size) The turbo boost frequencies are almost the same between the two models. The gap between the 2.3-2.6 is much bigger.

I have been using the 16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM in my new 2012 MBP that you see in my signature line and it is operating perfectly and presenting no issues for the 2 weeks I have had my 2012, and I have ran the hell out of this machine doing video editing and other intensive operations all at the same time. So get it and save some money, but if you "have" to spend more and be part of the cool kid club, then get the OWC version of the RAM.

The difference is due to 64 bits Geekbench (your link). Trial GeekBench is 32 bits (my 2 links).

Between the 2.6 and the 2.7 there is barely any difference I can tell you. Even with the Intel boost it's only 100MHz quicker.

Aha! Thanks for the clarification. It made no sense to me as I've seen no other benchmarks that high for the 2.7.

Just installed the Corsair Vengeance 16gb 1600mhz ram in a early 15" 2011 Macbook Pro 2.2 ghz quad i7. It's just been a couple of hours, however it feels smooth as butter so far. This ram and a Crucial M4 SSD has made this computer feel like its turbocharged! Geekbench 32 bit showed 10300 score. Very happy:)

hey guys,

Im looking to upgrade ram on my mid 2012 mbp 13" and needed advice if I should get 8gb or the 16gb corsair you've been talking about. Ive been happy with my sad upgrade now its time for the ram. Thanks guys!

What do you use your computer for? I always recommend getting as much RAM as you can afford as it is the cheapest component to see immense speed benefits. OS X loves RAM.

Depends, everyday tasks. Just iLife stuffs here and there. I was more concerned of price-
55$ for 2 4gb 1600 from crucial vs 120$ 16gb corsair from amazon
Im more likely to get the 8gb, but if there is a wide difference in performance I can get the 16gb. Tho I'm confused since I noticed the performance jump on using the ssd vs hdd and I don't know if I can still notice the performance if I upgrade to 16gb on this machine.
