Yeah they will work fine. Komputerbay isn't famous but I've heard that their RAM works fine. :)

Thanks. I'm just worried about the latency now as people have been saying you're buggered if you don't get 9s and others saying no problems. I'm buying them for a machine I won't see for another six weeks, abroad, so will be buggered for returning them as I won't be coming back any time soon.

No one's tried these on a new MBP as far as I know, so would have liked feedback.

Yeah, so if you have the latest 2012 or late 2011 MacBook Pro (13" or 15") Latency 10 will work just fine. Apple's latency on the OLD MBP used to be 9 but it's now 11, but if you put lower latency on your MBP it will run a bit quicker so yeah, latency 10 is perfect. I have Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB latency 10 and it runs very smoothly! Btw if your MBP gets hot, or overheats, I made a video on YouTube on how to clean your Fans. I also make other videos, you can subscribe to me if you want. ;)

PS: That RAM worked perfectly on the Late 2011 MBP and people I have met have the Mid 2012 MBP and have bought this RAM for there MBP. So yeah don't worry!

I take it there is no way to buy 1600MHz CL9 RAM in the UK. All the ones from Crucial are CL11 which i'm guessing is a bad match (Early '11 MBP)?

I found Komputerbay RAM but many accounts say to avoid those like a plague.

Thanks, mate. Ordered the RAM. Will just have to wait for it to come and then another 5 or 6 weeks until I get my hands on the new machine. Of course, if it all goes pear shaped I know who to blame. :D

Will check out the video.

I saw the price and though there's no way the asking price justifies the performance increase. You might be better off ordering from America and having it sent over.

Komputer Bay is basicly Samsung RAM (used in the MBP original RAM) but not with Samsung written on it. That's why it's not very famous.

Well, CL10 RAM can actually work on the early 2011 MBP, it's just that you have 1% chance of it not working. There is a guy who has posted on an another threath and he had an early 2011 MBP with CL10 inside it. (the RAM was like mine: Corsair Vengeance 2x8) and yeah you can't get 16GB w/CL9 only 8GB w/CL9

I just installed 2x8GB Komputerbay 1600MHz RAM (http://www.amazon.com/Komputerbay-PC3-12800-1600MHz-10-10-10-27-Heatspreaders/dp/B007PZWYKM/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1342132321&sr=8-5&keywords=16gb+ram+sodimm) into my Early 2011 Macbook Pro 2.0ghz i7 with 128GB Crucial M4 and it is running very nicely. Just rendered some things in After Effects CS6 and I was able to split up the RAM to each core just fine. Will keep on testing

So far so good :D

Great score! Like how you've pimped your MBP up!

Good news guys!

Hi guys, if you have a baseline MBP late 2011 or early 2011 and you have the HD graphics 300, well if you upgrade your RAM to 8GB or 16GB you will go from intel HD graphics 3000 384MB to intel HD graphics 3000 512MB ! :)

Is anyone having issues with freezing or screen glitching after installing 8gb or 16gb rams? as I read some are having issues with it.

No, I'm not having issues. People with does kind of issues normally haven't installed the correct ram for their macs. Normally caused with the wrong latency.

I bought this RAM for that same model and it's been really solid so far:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231531

Crucial is good too and the advantage of that memory you link to is the lower voltage requirement compared to the above which should translate into slightly better battery life.

Yeah it will work fine!

It's better to have 1.5V RAM than 1.35V on the old 2011 MBP.

Because, 2011 MBP can only support 1.5V RAM modules and not 1.35V, because well I'm not sure why but I think it's because the Sandy Bridge processors can't support that low volatge. But 1.35V RAM is not supported you can check on forums and they all say it will freeze up your Mac. The only Macs that can support 1.35V are the new mid 2012 MBP, with their new Ivy Bridge processors.

Hmmm..

That doesn't make sense as crucial says it's compatible and CL 9 which is correct also, I think.

Do you have a link or info that I can reference? I'd like to know before I install this. The point was to make sure the additional RAM helped, not hurt, the performance and stability.

ffs ive spent hours trying to decide which ram to go with for my late 2011 13 inch. in another thread ive read multiple reports of the corsair being faulty and people having alot of issues so im more or less made my mind up to wait untill the crucial is back in stock(even tho i badly need that 16gb for video editing).
but now im being told the 1.5v ram is better on this machine than 1.35? the crucial is 1.35 and the corsair is 1.5. ugh.....

can someone tell me definitively what voltage the ram that comes as standard with the late 2011 13inch mbp is?

If you still have Applecare, keep the original chips to reinstall in case you have to bring it in for service. They won't even look at it if it's running aftermarket memory.

Installed and seems to be running well.

Any market for 2GB Ram chips?
