Wait... you actually PAID for the software? Seriously?

:D

if it were for thieves like you, software companies would be dead and we would not have softwares
i surely hope in the future people will steal from you
maybe you would understand that instead of being cool you are just a dirty thief

Macbook VS Macbook Pro

Hey all, so I've been feeling the hurt just like everyone. Been waiting since beginning of December for the new Pro, thought it would come out in time for Christmas... then maybe January... then maybe February... now hopefully some time in March but who knows.

So I was wondering if anyone could help me with a question. What's the difference between the current models of the Macbook and the Macbook Pro?

I really needed a new computer around Christmas and now I really truly need one very soon so I'm considering going with the regular Macbook cuz I can't justify getting a Pro "so close" to a potential release of a new model.

Anyways any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan

Macbook VS Macbook Pro

Also I know you can get better specs with the Pros but I want to know what your $250 extra is paying for when you buy a Pro when both have these specs:
# 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
# 2GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x1GB
# 250GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm
# None
# Keyboard (English) & User’s Guide (English)
# SuperDrive 8x DVD+/-R DL/DVD+/-RW/CD-RW

Thanks,
Ryan

Get an i7 powered notebook if you can until the MacBooks come out, then dump it on eBay. Makes more sense to go that route rather than get the current MacBook build as they would depreciate dramatically once the new releases come out, if they do. i7 Powered notebooks however should still retain much of its value even after a month or two.

Yes idd, I was thinking on buying a Vaio 'till the new version of pro's come out. I've seen people on this forum being quite positive about the new Sony Vaio so I'm gonna check that out and sell it on ebay when the time has come (prolly 2 weeks after my purchase xD). Thanks for your advice.

@ 6-0 Prolence: Such prejudices :). I have bought Ableton v7, Arturia Minimoog V5 and Waves software in the past. I just wanted to step over to Logic to see what it is all about (which I will have to buy too).

Yeah, it's that whole integrity thing. Something about presenting and publishing stuff that was made with pirated software. It can only end badly.

All of that aside, if I'm going to use a piece of software regularly I'm going to pay for it, if for no other reason than honesty. Nobody would keep developing software if their ideas just got ripped off.

You can get off your high horses numbnuts, I was joking. Good grief, pirating is so high school anyway.

In any event, using freeware or switching licenses on an i7 notebook to ride people over until the new mbps seems like a viable alternative to me, especially if people need a solution NOW.

I have yet to meet a single person who NEEDS an i7 NOW. It's purely a want thing.

Thanks for the name-calling btw.

Don't expect to make accusations without getting bitch stomped in return. Grow some balls already.

Anyways, i7 notebooks are a steal these days, since you can easily find one under $1000 in most places. Since they are the latest in technology they'll keep more of their value than a Core Duo in case someone opts to dump it on ebay and get a new MBP when it comes out.

Juvenile name-calling over the Internet is clearly the best way to demonstrate intellectual superiority.

Ahh...I hope the new macbook pro is out soon...

But one question. WHEN it arrives. What will things be like? Is the apple.com frontpage going to say: "The New Macbook Pros. Revolutionary Technology" or something and then a picture of the new model or will it simply be just a blu triangle saying "new" on the mbp product in applestore?

Next tuesday???

Well, looking at the last update of MBP's, the Best buy inventory showed them being "in-stock" on May 31st, when in reality, they went on sale on May 27th.... a 4 day span.

This time around, Best buy is showing an in-stock date of March 14th, which is a Sunday. Most likely they will not go on sale on a Sunday. However, March 9th is 5 days before the 14th. So if the trend stays true, the new MBP's will come out on March 9th (Tuesday, as usual), leaving a nice 2 to 3 week space between the new MBPs and the iPad.

Thoughts....

Looks like them Apple boys like a good forum tussle before an update.

do you need firewire? i dont think mb come with firewire, and for me it is essential, which is why i am waiting for another mbp release.

What do u need firewire for?

It's for external hard drives and other devices. Transfers data much faster than USB. At the moment I have no FW based devices so I don't need it. But for other people, it's an absolute must have. Which is probably the main reason they removed it from the MB.

That is hilarious!:D I read somewhere that fighting on the internet is like competing in the Special Olympics. Even if you win, you're still retarded.

While this statement is quite mean, it's also very funny. I know, I have a sick sense of humor:)

Soon....very soon

Hi :) Yeah...I've been praying for the update too. Jesus have never told me but I can feel it :D It wont be too long now...;)

Didn't it take like 3-years for the G4 to Intel refresh? In a thriving economy?
I think it will be MONTHs before apple moves from the C2D on the MBPs.
