If I was Microsoft, I'd be starting up another "laptop hunters" TV ad campaign about how you can get newer tech for far less money.

QFT.

Old ads tried to attack Apple on their strong points. Attack them on their weak spots. As an Apple user, I would appreciate the kick in the butt.

http://www.macbook-case.com/pl.asp?ci=148796&cn=MacBook-Pro-28old-model-29-Cases-2D15-22

This list the Macbook Pro with Core2Duo as the old model it also has an case for the new model but says they are coming soon! Is this just me being about on my last bit of patients or is this just another sign that they will be here very soon. This is driving me crazy. release them already!

Um, they're describing the "new model" as the Aluminum MacBook Pro, and the "old" model as the Core Duo. Another entry says the "old model" is the October 08 version.

The last time MacBook Pros were released, it was on February 24. Maybe tomorrow?

2 weeks ago, some guy who claims he is working for apple and has inside information that he was 101% sure that the update will happen on tuesday. ends up it was aperture 3...

slightly sideways topic, but I was looking for i5 perf vrs c2d (about to press the button on a 13"), and found this:

http://browse.geekbench.ca/geekbench2/view/221835

MacPro4,1
Intel Core i5 650
Mac OS X 10.6 (Build 10A432)

Hackintosh? Real deal?

and come on with the MBPs, FFS! I'm only going to be in NY for 5 days, you (apple) could release them before then! (pweese?)

(hrmm, 10A432 is the gold master of snow leopard - so I'm guessing hackintosh :( )

Excitement

Next tuesday!

I don't know it. And I'm guessing that nobody else's cousin's sister's boyfriend's best friend who was at baskin robbins last night knows it either.

I kind of like the unknown.

come to think of it... the mbp's design has been the same since end 2008 for the aluminium macbooks... its been more then a year and the designs the same.. who knows they come out with some carbon fibre mbps! black light-weight with the apple logo... hmmm,..

I don't understand why everyone is so eagerly waiting for new products when Apple should be focusing on fixing the current ones and Mac OS X. I bet you these i5, i7 will have some kind of issues, like the 2009 iMac. Apple quality control has gone down the drain in the computer area. They are more focused on the iPhone, sad but true.

Correction: sad but opinion. As in, yours.

I love the current design! i hope it stay the same.
(I don't like the "plastic" design from the MB)

i guess that's the thing about apple?..
they'll just keep improving the design a little but touch on the internal specs like the new imacs and last years mbps, iphones ipods..

First it is a MacPro and it uses DDR2 RAM....

Well this is too bad, I can't wait any longer. I am going to need a laptop over the weekend, so it looks like I will just have to head into the store later today and pick up what's for sale right now. I was kinda banking on today for the release. LOL I already sold my iMac on eBay.

It has nothing to do with the MBP, but another Geekbench leak is always encouraging...

No. Memory speed is set by the DRAM controller. You need memory that is fast enough to keep up. installing faster memory than the DRAM controller is designed for offers no benefit.

Well, OK, the memory retailer gets one benefit - sucking more money from your wallet.

If you run 1333 RAM at 1066, you will be able to tighten the latency timing for faster performance. The 1333 chips are higher spec, so they should be able to run the quicker timings at 1066.

RAM Latency Explained

Admittedly, latency doesn't make much difference, but it is not meaningless.

thought the same thing about the iPhones. How awesome would a carbon shell look on those. Can't be a problem with the reception as well i gues

yeapp the next iphones better not resemble the 3GS. or the design department isnt doing it's job..

My Powerbook G4 wants a baby brother

That is, a bigger baby brother. Waiting patiently.

The iPad has the iTunes Store built in; no computer needed (even without a laptop you could use an iMac, a Mac Pro, or a Windows desktop). If you already have an iTunes library full of music then you already have a computer to upload stuff to the iPad from. So I don't see that as a good reason for the launches to be correlated. (On the other hand, Apple does like its correlated launches, so I wouldn't rule it out just because there's no good reason for it.)

Do you have an iPhone? It also has the iTunes store build in. Although you can use your iPhone without owning a laptop, it is easier and more usefull to have one. And why do you think Steve jobs specifically mentioned that the ipad can sync with iTunes? Seems you haven't done you're homework right, you get an F! I'm sorry...

Wait so is it too late today for new MBP's??? or could it still happen later on? Its only 9am over here
