I ordered around the same time. My two cents is we will receive shipping confirmations on Monday. Things seem to be speeding up! I just need that laptop before friday.
Not sure if you read my post or not but I'm actually a customer that depends on apple products to make a living. Did you really think that Apple was going to somehow magically stockpile a new product, while still manufacturing the rest of their line in quantities large enough to meet the launch day demand of every single person that ordered one?? What, and then cram all of those onto one giant magical unicorn fedex plane and drop them down everyones chimney the next day like its freekin christmas??? Your expectations are skewed...
Long story short. If you really needed it that bad you should have ordered as soon as the store was back. Guess what. Those people already have their rMBP's. If you waited, Apple told you when to expect it.
When apple misses that deadline, then by all means raise hell.
No clue. it might just be Apple smartening up about free shipping upgrades. Sorry.
So I'm at a friend's graduation party and they have a sideshow and music playing on the tv. I'm just sitting there and suddenly I spot what it's coming from...and it's beautiful. First time I've seen one in person. This isn't making the wait any easier.

I'm wondering whether enrolling in AppleCare (or adding other add-on items) during the time of ordering will speed up the process, no?
Well after the Anandtech review I'm more eager to get my hands on this (for the wrong reasons at the moment ) to see how bad the scrolling lag is under lion and whether I can find it tolerable. That said I tried it at the Apple store and noticed none of the said problems. Maybe I'm just use to sucky scrolling, haha.
If not I think it will be a very sad and angry shipment back to Apple.
16th - 20th July delivery time, hopefully I can get it by the first week in July rather than that looong estimate. (ordered 15th June).

My whole point is that they should not have been pushing the "Shipping Today" aspect. They obviously new they had limited quantities on hand and these would sell like crazy. They should have said "Limited Quantities available today" or simply just said "Shipping Next week" and allowed more stockpile and less frustrated customers.
Oh, it is AppleCare. But I still got charged for the $100 student gift card also.
The $100 they charged you for the iTunes gift card will be subtracted from the total price of the Mac. It all evens out in the end.
You might get bumped to the end of the line, but 6 months from now you will have forgotten about the time you have waited.... you probably won't forget not getting 16GB down the lline

I'm still "processing" same exact specs and ordered 3 days before you... what the ****...
If it helps, I am processing too :| Ordered on the 11th at 8PM CST, 2-3 weeks, delivery 29th-6th .... BTO 2.6/16/512.
Others already got shipment confirmation and for me it is stuck. At least my CC got charged today in the morning, so I can hope that it was shipped, but system was not updated :|
