So confused. And discouraged. Had a stock lower model, ordered at 10ish EST in the 11th... credit card hasn't been charged yet, only for the giftcard which people are saying comes off in the total price of the computer?

If it helps, I am processing too :| Ordered on the 11th at 8PM CST, 2-3 weeks, delivery 29th-6th .... BTO 2.6/16/512.

Others already got shipment confirmation and for me it is stuck. At least my CC got charged today in the morning, so I can hope that it was shipped, but system was not updated :|

no there is no reason to let this go..this is complete bs....
How can apple justify putting someone else's order in front of me?
Apple claims they are "building" my computer. However, an order with the same exact specs happens to submit their order DAYS after is further along... this absolutely makes no sense to me.. I'm going to assuming apple is just sending out orders randomly in no order whatsoever!!

I haven't even been charged for anything except for my lame itunes card!

Yeah this iTunes card is like a trap. They ship it to you, charge you, so really it is a hustle to return it and go and try to buy it at the store. So this way they know that you will wait, so why would they make sure they are doing things in order ... they do not have to. Plus we should stop complaining :| They've said that they will ship mine in 2-3 weeks, 3 weeks will be on the 29th, so taking that into a count, they have plenty of time.

Yep... mine's been delayed twice now. :]

All I can assume is that he was "pushed" ahead of all of us because he used the GOV discount... and because I am eligible for both GOV and EDU... I am going to place a second order... and see which one processes quicker..

You're acting like a spoilt child. It's either a) a troll b) an order which got lucky c) an order which slipped under the system d) Apple aren't going in a strict order date.

Calm down, you're waiting what, 2-3 weeks for a laptop which is going to last you at least a year. Why do people have such self entitlement? If you were to order a Sony Vaio it would be 3-4 weeks even without such a huge demand.

The problem with the MBPR is that it is one supplier for the screen and one supplier for the SSD. LG and Samsung most likely can't make them fast enough to supply the surge of demand.

weird... right after I placed the order... they took the amount out of my account... thats odd...

You are so wrong sir. I am not acting like a spoiled child. First off, one must understand all of your facts before making a comment like such. I am not complaining about my shipping date; and never have. However, I was complaining about an order that was shipped before mine when, this order was placed days after..
So I don't think I am be a "spoiled" child. I simply want my order placed and processed in the order it was received. Once again, I have never complained about the "shipment" or "expected" delivery date; so to assume that this is a childish act is nothing more than simpleminded, uninformed remark on your part.

Hmm interesting. Loophole?

They did that for me too (I paid by debit card). Apple do say they don't charge your card until it ships, only they place an "authorisation" - however perhaps it works differently for debit vs credit cards. Lucky I transferred extra through from my savings before I purchased or else I would've been hit with an overdraft fee.

However - several days later, that charge disappeared again. So perhaps it was some sort of authorisation hold for the money in my account?

Actually with Pvisitors on this one. You accepted a 2-3 week(or whatever) processing time when you completed your order.

If Tim Cook walked up to me and said
"hey, you have 2 options
1. We can ship you on the last day we told you in our estimate, but everyones order is going to be in order, and noone that ordered after you will get theirs before you
2. We're gonna be kinda wonky on shipping, some people that ordered after you may get theirs before yours, we're rushing everything out as quickly as production allows and some slip through the cracks, but I guarantee that you'll get yours earlier than in option 1"

I'd take option 2 every time. Life isn't fair, get used to it. Someone might have gotten lucky by a computer bug, or they're trolling you to make you mad. If you aren't a "spoiled child", then you'll realize that sometimes computer systems don't work as intended, and some days computer glitches help you, and others days they help someone else.

No you are wrong. I ordered this only 3 hours after the online store opened again. And it is still processing. 3 hours! I am sick and tired of that.

I am just going to sit this one out but after I got my retina I am never going to buy anything from apple again. Apple just lost a customer. I have been a loyal customer for years and this is the 2nd time that I order on the web and they just screwed it up

Yesterday was the worst day ever.....I went to my local Apple store with the intention of being turned down by them having no Retinas in stock. They told me they had a few in stock, so of course I glow like a kid on Christmas. I immediately get in line for a specialist while playing with a Retina. I ordered a base model Retina so I could get one there and be fine. Only problem is I already credited my account with the $100 back to school gift card. After begging the specialist to save me and take an additional $100 off of the price to equal out the $100 charge to my Barclay account when cancelling an order, the manager turned me down!! So life isn't perfect......no happy endings in this story. I didn't just magically get a free one because I was cute. No free expedited one day earlier shipping. I had a Retina slip through my fingers and am now back here with my MacRumors family refreshing the spreadsheet.

Yes, I do understand that computers make mistakes and I agree with you DJ.. Perhaps I overreacted..
The comment that I am a "spoiled child" was uncalled for. As someone who has served in the Military and now currently in medical school. I am very far from "spoiled" and "child".

I agree with djmoody. Besides if it wasn't for this thread, you wouldn't know about everyone elses shipping. You will get yours, just be patient.

Also about the gift card charges. Sorry if this has already been addressed. Apple charges for the gift card and takes it off the computer so they don't get ripped off by people waiting for their gift card to be sent and then cancelling their order. Its basically to protect themselves from theft.

No no; I was charged for the FULL amount of the computer. $2338.71

I don't get how you say you ordered 3 hours after the store opened and have a 2-3 week shipping frame..

I have a record I believe it was like this

5-7 days - 2 hours
7-10 days - 4 hours
2 -3 weeks - over 12 hours.

So if you'd actually ordered 3 hours after the store opened you'd be in the 7-10 day range.

Well I do agree, overreacted is probably a better word than "spoiled child". However, when dealing with people remember this is the internet and etiquette and politically correct language don't always come first :p

If your referring to me which I dont think you are. I have never claimed I ordered 3 hours after..I placed my original order on tuesday..

No, I am referring to surjavarman.. I find it hard for his order to be processing when he ordered that early. His order is still processing when Apple has moved on to the 2-3 week range. I find it odd, unless he has special circumstances.

On a side note. Don't worry I ordered Tuesday too and am still waiting. I could have ordered right when the store opened but hesitated thinking nobody would purchase one and a day later decided to go for one.

Yeah.. I waited 24 hours as well.. so that I make an informed decision on the model that I really wanted.

Upgraded models pushed that date out. I ordered about 2 - 3 hours after the store went up and have a 2 - 3 week ship date. I ordered 2.6/16/768.
