What's the point of tracking the plane flight? We get a FedEx tracking number with a estimated delivery time. Don't see why you guys want to go as far to track the plane it's on. In the end it's going to end up on your doorstep the day FedEx says it will or a day earlier if you're lucky.

This thread is all about order status (100+ pages of it), and it even has a custom spreadsheet tracking 200+ orders, and you really need to ask that question?

OMFG. OH MY ****I** GOD!!!

SERIOUSLY!!!! I ORDERED THIS ON THE 11TH 5PM EDT AND ITS STILL FRIGGIN PROCESSING!!!!

holy **** what the **** is going on!!!!!

I ordered a 2.3/16/256 on 6/11 at approximately 8 pm PDT. It said ships in 2-3 weeks but changed to Preparing for Shipment late Friday then Shipped very early Saturday. It spent last night in Memphis and now it's sitting in Oakland, after being tagged in San Jose. It says estimated delivery 6/27 and while I know Bay Bridge traffic can be terrible, I'm hoping it makes its way over to SF tomorrow.

Guys relax!

I am just saying that grave injustice has been done to me. I ordered this like 3-4 hours after online store went back up again and I am the last to receive it? Whats up with that

I've got some news that may be helpful for those outside the US. Ordered around 9pmEST on the first day, 2.6Ghz model. Still processing. Called my local Apple hotline in Singapore to ask what was the hold up.

Apparently, for all electronic products here they need to get safety and sale approvals from the authorities (kinda like FDA approved) and they only got it last Friday in Singapore. They will be shipping my order this week and hopefully I'll get it by Friday! Fingers crossed.

Yahoo! Hope for other 2-3 week base rMBP people! Congrats :)

I ordered around that time too! But still processing :( well, at least I should have faster ship time  est dd 29 Jun-5 July, surprise me Apple!

What's important to remember is that Apple cannot possibly predict how many orders they'll receive. I've read several reports that this may be the biggest backorder delay Apple has experienced. Yet I only used the word backorder as it's a conventional term for not having units to ship.

Apple's version is "in processing". They will not use the word backorder, so as to not discourage more orders. I don't blame them either. Apples customer service people are terrific, yet they don't know either. Apples code of silence is an effective method to shield them from unreasonable customers.

My past experience reveals there's no way to know how long till an actual tracking number is received by FedEx or whomever the shipper is.

At least "in processing" assures you have a valid order. Patience is the key. Nothing else will expedite your order. Finally, remember it has to clear customs. This usually requires a few hours, yet I've had one MBP on a palet full of new Macs, that was stuck in customs for 33 days. You never know till it arrives at your door.

I didnt want to start another thread about this so hopefully I can get some helpful insights.

according to my tracking information my RMBP is at a local fedex station right now, anyway I can call them tomorrow morning for me to just pick it up myself instead of waiting until Wednesday for them to deliver it? Because tomorrow is the only day that im free and the whole week I'll be out of the house from 9am-11pm.

Anybody done this before?

Thanks in advance!

Just call them. Typically they will not hold unless shipper puts in a request or that they have already delivered it already. It's worth a shot.

There are still 2 - 3 days that it can be shipped, not sure why you are flipping out.

In the past I have seen times where my order status wasn't updated until a day later when the order was already half way here.
