Still preparing for shipping since Friday, ordered right after announcement on Canadian store when it was at 7-10 days but It switched to 2-3 weeks after I ordered it.

Does anyone had it preparing for shipment for more then 48 hours

Has there been any comment or rumor of the bigger SSDs (768 GB) shipping to anyone? The spreadsheet says no.

I'm worried that perhaps these parts don't exist yet...

I ordered my maxed-out rMBP within 5 minutes of the store coming up after the keynote on the 11th, but mine is still processing. The estimate at that time was 3-5 weeks, but a couple hours later the same 2.7/16/768 configuration was 2-3 weeks, so I'm expecting to receive it within that date range.

Those of us who just got preparing for shipment, 2-3 weeks, where could we find flight information? It would be awesome to have someone post it if they knew. This information is just icing on the cake for me even though im sure we will get shipping confirmations/tracking tomorrow or late tonight.

i tracked FDX28 using flightaware

it looks like we are going to get ours through UPS probably... the FDX flight is in memphis right now... so it has to go back to shanghai before returning, unless ours dont ship until tomorrow

Use flightaware or neonflights. But you won't be able to track it down until you get the departure scan time.

Just checked my status and my base model with 2.3/8/256 is now "preparing for shipment" i was in the 2-3 week time period with an estimate of the 5th to 10th of July. I placed my order around 8:30 - 9:00 pm eastern time.

Ha! Im glad i ordered on the 12th. A hurricane nea new orleans may delay rhe deliveries this week.

I've been keeping an eye on the FedEx flights also and your right. Is it about 50/50 FedEx/UPS coming out of Shanghai? I haven't really noticed mention of UPS

Mine just left TN. Does Fedex work on Sunday too? Has FedEx ever delivered things before the schedule?

FedEx will move your shipment around on Sundays yes but you probably won't see a tracking update until tomorrow. And they do deliver early sometimes, but you will know via the tracking page. They know if they will be a day early and will update the tracking page to reflect that.

Wish mine was in TN, unfortunately it hasn't even shipped yet!

There is no evidence that any 768GB'ers have been shipped through members of this board and through inquiries on other boards.

I speculate that the 768 chips were expected to be available this coming week because even immediately after the store came online, anyone choosing the 768 was pushed into the 2-3 week range. The earliest delivery date I have seen was June 29th. Mine is July 2.

Why would people buy the 768gb version anyway? It cost a whopping $1100.

Might as well buy the base version, save the $1000, sell the base version for like $1000 next year and get the 512gb base version next year for the same price. Rinse and repeat. You are probably making a profit too on top of having a better CPU, newer features etc.

Its a waste of money in my opinion

that doesn't help my storage needs this year.

if they up the storage, i'll just get the ultimate version next year too.

brilliant! I shouild have just executed your rinse and repeat plan for a couple years until I finally have the computer I actually need right now!

Oh well, my 768GB waste of money is still processing at 2-3 weeks...

I can only speak for myself. I've only been a Mac user since 2009. I have 3 but none are mobile. This is my first Macbook and I have saved to get it with cash and can easily afford the 4G for getting everything maxed out. My primary machine now is a 2010 Mini that I upgraded the hard drive to 750GB. This MBPr will become my primary. I have shy of 400GB on it now so the 512GB option would not last me a year. The 768 is the best mobile option I have for now.
