ordered 6/20, still in processing stage for MBPr, 3-4 weaker here. However the "gesture of good will" extra magsafe2 power adapter that was added to order yesterday morning shipped out of Newark this morning estimating to be here July 3.
(how weird will it be to have a way to power a device and not receive said device until approximately 2 weeks later)

Unexpected shipping!

I checked my RMBP (2.7GHz/16GB/768GB) order last night at 2am and no change from "processing". Then when I woke up this morning, I received an email at 7:57am PDT that it shipped. Woohoo!

I had ordered 07-12 @ 11:00 PDT to be delivered in California with an original delivery estimate of July 12-18th. Now my delivery estimate is July 6th by 4:30pm PDT. Yay! :D

Now I just have to make sure I have enough to pay my credit card...

Dude, WTF! I ordered my 2.7/16/768 on June 11 at 1 PM PST and mine still says processing. Delivery is CA.

I have to add that I was in the 3-5 week group for some reason. I also ordered it through the Buisness Apple Team.

But still there is no justice!

Easy solution.

Buy 256gb rMBP.

"Find" a 512gb rMBP.

Remove the 512gb storage from that rMBP.

Free upgrade.

Call Apple to be sure your payment method is going through, I had this problem with my bank not releasing over 2k without personally making a phone call to them.

My order from June 23rd just shipped about an hour ago. The tracking says "Shipment exception" though? Not sure what that means.

Edit: Oh, freakin wonderful. The details say "Package received after FedEx cutoff" so that means another day delay. Lame.

Ordered a base model on the 24th (not for me since I already have an rMBP), shipped on the 30th, will be here next Friday. Weird. The original estimate was July 24-30.

Sorry, dude! Maybe I just got lucky. Or maybe you had a problem with your credit card. Apple buys a lot of components from my company, so I got a slight discount by going through a special link to the Apple store. Not sure if that is the same with you going through the Business Apple Team (whatever that is).

Now that apple are moving towards non upgradeable components I think they seriously need to consider stocking all options in store or at least most of them. Pita to have to order online when the local apple stores and amazon have them available and in stock.

I could get one now if I wanted a stock model. A bit annoying.

Same situation here. Ordered base model on the 23rd. Status changed to preparing for shipment yesterday morning and this morning changed to shipped with estimated delivery of July 6.

Anyone else have the "Package received after FedEx cutoff" shipping exception? Guessing I just got unlucky and they forgot to put my laptop on the plane.

From the looks of the spreadsheet the base model isn't that popular that could be the reason. Your local apple store probably even has them.

My prediction for deliveries en route from China now:

Worst Independence Day EVER! Not only does it fall on a Wednesday, so we only get one holiday day off rather than two and a four day weekend, it's going to delay my rMBP arrival! Fedex estimates Friday. :(

Take a look back at the people whose deliveries shipped out at the same time last Saturday, on the same flight. If you look back in the thread there are screen shots of their tracking updates and they are almost identical to ours this week. The people that had their deliveries leave China at the same time as ours did, had them delivered Monday or Tuesday at the latest. These folks also had FedEx delivery estimates of 6 days (just like ours do now). Nevertheless, they received their orders 2-3 days earlier than the estimate listed on the tracking website. I would put money on many of us on that flight getting our orders on Monday or Tuesday. The only thing that might cause a problem is if your package has to travel through the areas experiencing forest fires right now. I attached one of the tracking info screen shots from a week ago to illustrate my point.

Just read that all flights coming out of Shanghai International Airport are delayed 1hr. 9 minutes with some cancellations. Hope mine got off the ground beforehand!

Everyone's shipping is "expedited"

It may not list it on Apple's website, but all of the deliveries to the States are being treated the same. Regardless of whether Apple's order status page lists your shipping method as "expedited" or "standard", they are being shipped using FedEx Express' expedited DirectDistribution service. The tracking page will show "Service type: IP Direct Distribution", which is short for "FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution". This is FedEx's premiere international service with delivery times of 1-4 days from origin scan to final destination. This explains why many people are receiving their orders 2 days after being shipped (or the first business day). Furthermore, I called Apple to see what the deal was with the expedited shipping and two different employees told me that orders in the states were already being shipped as fast as they could.

That would be awesome if I got it on Tuesday! That would make my day off for the 4th so much less pointless, middle of the work week or not. I hope the pattern holds this weekend.

Looks like I got the same thing, but then, my delivery estimate is next Friday. But maybe I'll get it on Monday or Tuesday since Wednesday is July 4th.

Apple already made an announcement saying business orders were delayed a month.

FedEx told me I could tape a piece of paper to my front door with my signature on it and address it to the FedEx delivery person. This is the case only if your FedEx tracking info says an indirect signature required...

That being said I will probably wait around and go to work late because I am so anxious to have my hands on it :)

If you go to your Apple order status page there is a link to print out a special form to leave for FedEx if you can't be home to receive the package.
