did you get email notification when it changed from processing to preparing？
AUSTRALIAN ORDER
Ordered 12 June (GMT 10+) and got the Apple Order Acknowledgement email received 12:15pm that day. Order is for rMBP 2.7/16/768... nearly here! TNT always delivered before 9am so I should get it tomorrow morning (Melbourne). Woo! Hoo!!

I did NOT get the email. Only when it went to SHIPPED (with a tracking number... which did not work for a few hours).

The only e-mails I've ever received for any Apple orders are:
Order confirmation.
Order shipped.
Order invoiced.
I was in 2 to 3 weeks and the delivery date was 2 Jul to 6 Jul and I am getting it tomorrow (3 July) so a few days earlier. I would say the manufacturing must be fully operational and things will be built quicker than indicated. That is why, if you go to Apple site, it still says 3 - 4 weeks. No back log! I wouldn't be surprised if you guys get yours earlier than indicated also.
I have a question guys. Mine is supposed to deliver on the 2nd (today) and delivered to Louisville, KY. Everything has been fine so far and just tonight (after coming from Memphis) my status on FedEx says
"In Transit
Shipping Exception
Erlanger, Ky"
Later down it says "delay beyond our control."
It still says that I will get the package tomorrow. Do you all know anything about this kind of situation?

I use mine connected to an external display (NEC PA301) so the display is handy when I am out and about but it is the processing power, SSD, USB 3 that I am looking forward to getting!
I still will do the majority of my work on my dual-monitor desktop... but I love love LOVE the idea of 1920 or even full 2880 resolutions in a 15" size for editing when traveling or in the field.
Anyone had late updates to their FedEx tracking? For example, the item already reached the airport but FedEx still says "Departed"?

Hmm stranger and stranger in my case which got to Memphis at 12.30pm - now it's in Seattle (10.30pm)! So Alaska to Oakland to Memphis to Seattle presumably then on to Portland.
Very odd. Good zen practice though.

Same issue. My guess is that its because the sort facilities arent open on Sunday's. I bet very very early in the AM there will be the update that its at sort facility, then on truck for delivery.

Mine just changed to 'at sort facility' at 1:30 in the morning.

Update: In the few hours since this was posted, it now says, "Preparing for shipment" and a hold was placed on my credit card
2.6ghz, 16gb ram, 768gb SSD, fwiw
and a few hours later...SHIPPED! It will be in my hands Friday morning.
I just received my tracking number (Sunday Night PST). I ordered expedited shipping (2-3 days) now my shipping estimate via FedEx is Friday. Anybody else have the same situation where 2-3 shipping was estimated as 5 days but ended up coming sooner?
