FYI, for those of you who live in the San Antonio, TX area, the 2 apple stores here have some 2.3/8/256 in stock. I called them to see if the had the one I ordered (2.3/16/256) so I could get it earlier. They didn't. Hopefully this helps someone out.
 
Just got delivery this morning! I day earlier than FedEx estimated.
Now I need to figure out how an excuse to "work from home" the rest of the day :D

The base models are starting to become very common in the stores. The flag ship store in San Francisco told me that they had 2 of them sit in the backroom for almost 2 days before selling.

But upgraded models sell within a few minutes.
 
2.3/16/256 ordered the 14th. 3-4 week estimate. Just shipped July 2 - Vancouver area. Well ahead of estimated shipping time. Nice!!!
 
It's coming!

Ordered on June 12th, (had to re-order because I was so excited and forgot about the student discount, they pushed me back), shipped on June 30th and is on its way to my house tomorrow/Wednesday! My first Mac, so all of the rumours I've been hearing about the lag better not be true considering I just paid $2,400 for this thing!

2.3GHz Intel i7
16GB RAM
256GB SSD

For those of you worried about all the lag rumours: you have 30 days to return your rMBP if you really don't like it (Apple says 14 days on their website but the guy on the phone told me they accept up to 30 days as long as you don't break anything), they offer a 100% refund, so you really have nothing to loose. You'll even have enough time to upgrade to ML for free and see if that fixes it.

Called Apple about why some people were getting theirs with the same config shipped up to a week before me, even though they ordered 2 weeks after me, phone support had no idea why that was happening, they also didn't know about the rumoured lag issues, or they were lying ;)

Anyways, hope to have it in a few days, excited for my first Mac and we'll see how it goes. Good luck to those still waiting, it's been a long 3 weeks for me :(

Shipping to Ottawa, Canada btw.

I've been so excited about having my MBPr shipped that I've tripped over my power cord on my iPad and cracked the screen.

Looks like I'm gonna do my credit card another injustice and get a new iPad.

The lengths we go to to get another new piece of hardware.
 
Just called apple about my order.

Pretty much said there's no payment issue, but probably the BTO models there's less demand and less goin out, and the base model that I ordered is more than likely in higher demand, and them going out to stores. But since technically my order isn't late, and expected delivery is July 9th-13th, it is still within the timeframe to get it to me by then.

So no good news for me.... Still stuck on processing. I knew I should have gotten upgraded RAM, maybe it would have gotten to me faster.

received it this morning, didn't even said out for delivery, just that it got to Charlotte! It was on my desk when i got to work! Nice! Typing on it right now. The screen is really amazing.

Cancel it and go for upgrade. You'll only regret it afterwords not having 16.
 
Im going away July 13th and Im trying to time my order right. Im getting a 2.3/16/256, is the 3-4 week estimate correct? I want to order so it doesn't come during my vacation, but so I can get asap, thanks :D

Has anyone done a comparison, maybe different thread, between 2.3/2.6/2.7 to see if it actually makes a whole lot of difference?

I've read things regarding this, people say there isn't a really large difference between 2.3/2.6/2.7, even in benchmarks. You should get the 2.6/2.7 if you plan to do tons of video editing as it will slightly speed up your encoding and rendering. Only reason why I'd get the 2.6 is for the 512GB SSD, but it's cheaper to get an external HDD instead ;)
