Raw end of the deal is right mate. I'll hold off until 21st if it hasn't changed by then. It'll come eventually like...but I'd much rather Apple had handled this in a first come, first served basis. I wouldn't care if those who ordered before us were the first to get their laptops, and everyone received theirs in an orderly queue. I'm with you guys but from Germany. But hold it up for some days, mine just changed to "Preparing for shipment" some minutes ago! Ordered it on the 18th of June (2.3/8/256) and felt like "hey guys, you forgetting meh?" because so many BTO/19th/20th have been shipped/prepared in the last 48+ hours... yours will join them in the next for sure
Congratulations mate, glad someone's has changed from the 18th crowd! What was your original delivery estimate? Let's hope we all get our laptops soon! I'm in Northern Ireland, personally. I know that FedEx have a depot literally 2 miles away from where I live, so, fingers crossed it'll get to me soon...

looks like they need an excuse to tell people just so they dont give free expedited shipping to everyone... u know for spending over $2500 on a laptop, you think they could upgrade to expedited for free ($15 value)... but i guess if they do that for everyone, people who actually paid for expedited shipping would get pissed.
19th - 25th of July was/is my ETA. Now I'm sure they can fulfill at least the 19th but actually never doubt that they would at least achieve the last date of the ETA.

Now I just refresh all the time to see when it gets shipped, since some reported they got nearly immediately from Preparing to Shipped, some are still waiting after 48+ hours of preparing...Seems like it, aye. It's alright for us to sit here from a non-industry standpoint and 'fix' their policy, but, it would stand to reason to make all orders over a certain amount have free expedited shipping for the future. I'm sure there's a million reasons why this could never happen (beyond simple financial losses) but it still sucks.
Mine has been stuck at the fed ex facility in shanghai for quite some time and hasn't had any movement. Where is yours stuck at on your tracking information? Hopefully I'm not in the same boat as you!

Excellent =) good luck! Yeah, seems to be there's a long wait sometimes before it actually ships, but it won't ever be as long as the three-four week wait between Processing and Preparing! It can't be nearly as painful...right? Right?!

It's like, it makes me think about my computer 24/7 since I know a ton of other people are waiting for theirs and are constantly updating on this thread, but on the other hand this thread has been more of a supportive guide on this long long journey. Wait 3 weeks than call and complain. You might get it 1 day sooner but I doubt it.
I ordered on the 13th of June, and I'm still at processing. They've already missed the "ships in 3-4 weeks window, as I'm on day 3 of week 5.
I just called Apple just to make sure there was no problem with my order, and the lady assured me that the payment was fine (I paid by cash at the Apple store so they have had my money from the get go).
The next thing I asked her was if I would definitely be getting my laptop in the July 14 - 21 timeframe that they had given me. I added in a little white lie, saying that i really needed my laptop during the estimated delivery timeframe because i was going on an extended business trip right afterwards. Her response had left a bad taste in my mouth. She told me that the July 14 to July 21 delivery was just an estimation and there was a good chance that it might arrive past July 21st because of high demand.
I wanted to tell her that people who ordered the same computer even 2 weeks after me were getting theirs shipped, but I didn't because I knew it wouldn't matter and that I would just get some kind of excuse.
So in short, I'll most likely just cancel my order and get my $3000 back if nothing happens by the 21st. Don't let my story scare you though. Virtually everyone else is getting their computers before the estimated dates. Thanks for reading.
