Can't understand Apple's Shipping order...
I ordered 2.3/16/256 on July 2nd. Still Processing, but I've had the $15 shipping charge show up on my credit card recently.
Edit: Apple just charged my CC for the amount of the order....!!
2nd Edit: Status just changed to Preparing for shipment!

I ordered on July 9 and mine just shipped I ordered the 2.6/512/16 I am not sure how but I just got the email this morning expected delivery of the 25th
I ordered 2.3/16/256 on 7/11, still processing. I am hoping that this means that mine will be shipping soon, although it seems as if the config I ordered is taking the longest to ship
Seriously?! I ordered the exact same configuration a full week earlier and I'm still "processing"... I paid for expedited shipping too!
Edit: Never mind, *just* switched to "preparing for shipment" !
My rMBP is supposed to be delivered today, but didn't get into miami until 10:30AM. Hasn't updated to "Out for Delivery" yet, starting to get worried they aren't going to deliver it today because it came in so late. Does anyone know if they will deliver on Saturday with the expedited shipping? The anticipation is killing me!

They might still deliver it today. I've had stuff get on the truck pretty late. It probably won't arrive 'til pretty late at night htough

An rMBP? I call bull on this. No way did you order two days ago and go to preparing for shipment today.
No to upset anyone, but mine says preparing for shipment now.
2.7/16/512 ordered 7/13 and preparing to ship 7/20.
All I can think of is maybe they prepare these in batches or maybe they pushed me up because I had to spend an hour on the phone to get my order done correctly. Who knows but it seems they are starting to catch up.

As others have said--I almost didn't believe the status change when I first saw it... 2.3/16/256 ordered on 28/6 with EDU discount.
Any chance my rMBP will move on Saturday, or will it be Monday?

wtf, took all that time in order to leave China? I was hoping to have one of those 24hr instances I've been seeing, but it took 36 hours to release it..

I get the feeling that the different configurations go down physically different production lines at Foxcon. Once all of the similar components have been assembled (screen, body, battery, etc) then they prob split to fill the individual specs (processor, motherboard w/ mem, ssd). Ordering a lower demand spec (2.7 processor) puts the machine on a less congested line and thus out the door faster.
This is all complete conjecture on my part. I have no real idea how they assemble these things. It just seems that this could be the way they are doing things based on the fact that the 2.7/16/512 seem to be shipping faster than the 2.3/16/256
