Sweet! Even though the online order tracking doesn't show an update, called FedEx and they confirmed the package has in fact cleared customs and I should be getting a call to pick it up this morning
can't believe this day is here, sure hope this machine is flawless!UPS is bad and they have a very low customer service, I wouldn't surprise about it. See mine also shipped on 21st through fedex and its on the vehicle for delivery. FedEX moved the package over the weekend and today they are delivering. UPS just keeping the package in china. UPS worst delivery service in the world. (I guess paying extra $25 is worth it
Mine is out for delivery now too. I paid the extra originally. It's just the automated system said it would be delivered wednesday. I had an experience with either Fedex or UPS years ago where the delivery was sitting locally and they wouldn't let me pick it up early and they waited until the delivery date to actually deliver it.
Now if my external USB 3 & SSD would show up so I can install Linux on it when it gets here.

You aren't much given to hyperbole, are you?
How does one empirically quantify customer service? Hence how can one say whether customer service by one delivery firm is 'very low' compared to an implied standard?
As for UPS being the worst service in the world, clearly you don't get out much. Try getting something delivered in the DRC. As in actually getting what you were sent from somewhere to the DRC. DHL might be willing to take it as far as Kinshasa, after that all bets are off. Depending on where in the bush you are, you might get your package by pygmy courier (I am not kidding about that). Their understanding of controlled climate and fragile packages is weak at best, which is understandable, given the environment they live in.
Anyway, my original point is that you cannot by any measure call UPS the worst service in the world, never mind useless.

I just got an email from apple store;
Basically it says that apple is happy to inform me that they are able to ship earlier than anticipated. Dispatch date 8/3
However my delivery estimate was 8/3-8/10
So I figure this b**** since it means that I won't receive it 8/3 If it's not dispatched before this date
Has anyone received an email update from AS like this, but received the package earlier than stated in the email?

Yes I have also received the same email, my delivery estimate is between 30th-6th aug but in the email it says that it would be dispatched on 03-8

Yay! My rMPB hopped on FDX 48 out of Shanghai on July 21st. (By the sounds of it, FDX 48 was full of Apple goodies). It's out for delivery now! 2.3/16/256 ordered on 28/6 with EDU discount. Original delivery estimate: 26/7-1/8.

when did you guys place your orders? what config did you order? just curious b/c I did not recieve an email, and mine is currently estimated at 8/3-8/8 for a 2.3/16/256 ordered on 7/11
Really, Really hope it might ship earlier..
However the email really isnt up for interpretation!

I can't believe it can take 10 days to deliver a computer to a major city in Europe, they say the tracking number will become available 48 hours before the actual delivery but I have a job, I don't want the delivery guy to leave a message so I have to go take it myself (I don't have a car and don't feel the need to get one).

Sorry, I did local pick-up for my EDU Gift Card.
I was visiting my parents when I ordered my MBP and picked-up my GC from a local Apple Store so I didn't have to wait to receive it.
I only shipped the computer.
Hopefully the tracking will become active soon - you might want to give apple a call as the tracking number they gave you could be wrong.

I'm in the exact same boat as you and we will probably be in the same shipment. I ordered on July 2nd and got my Shipped email on Saturday. I still had no tracking info or courier info and was hoping that would all come today but so far, no luck. My order is going to Stockholm so it seems European merging of card and computer is really slow. They gave me a Shipped By date of Aug. 2nd. As with yourself, I really can't believe it can take that long. The email said we should receive tracking info within 24 hours of the computer shipping so I will wait until tomorrow before calling them.
