I called Apple yesterday asking if my shipping was going to come down at all from the original 3-4 week estimate since the store now reflects 1-2 weeks (ordered 7/6, 2.3/16/256) and they said the best they could do was bump me to expedited shipping. I mentioned that some people I know (you guys on this thread) have ordered after mine and have shipped. The rep on the phone told me if he had an order number to look at and confirm they could "do something".

Anyone have any idea what that would be? Or anyone have any order numbers that have shipped after 7/6? :)

For that reason, I just canceled my order and place a new order today. I called apple to cancel. And following my cancelation, I placed a new order online, same spec. One thing for sure, the new order, today, has an earlier estimated delivery by almost one full week.
 
Yeah I ordered from the EDU as well and the first time the time dropped, mine dropped as well, but the second time (friday) it did not change. I think maybe because I had ordered and then one day later the time changed that they updated my order as well.
 
I ordered on EDU shortly after it dropped to 2-3 weeks, and it still says that after the drop to 1-2 weeks. I'm waiting until tomorrow though because maybe they don't update over the weekend.
 
Ok this is bull crap, I just ordered another rMBP with same config as my other one and it has the exact same shipping time as my other one. So essentially, someone ordering today will get theirs at or before mine.

Yet another call to apple...
 
For what it's worth, I noticed in the spreadsheet of orders that someone made on here, that most orders arrived before their scheduled delivery. Basically it depends how much you believe Apple's estimated delivery date, because it will probably get there earlier even without this change in shipping speed.

This is probably true, but still hard to feel like you aren't being jerked around a bit.

I ordered one day after you July 9th, estimated delivery day August 2nd - August 8th
 
such a long time since an update on tracking status.. I'd imagine it will have to be cleared soon if it's going to be ready for tomorrow. Is conandoyle's BC bound rMBP still sitting at Mississauga as well?

Ordered on July 2nd. Estimated delivery is July 30th. Finally changed to Prepared for shipment this morning and just got a notice that it's just shipped and estimated delivery date is July 25th. It's coming 5 days early for me so hopefully this means there'll be good news for you guys too. :)

congrats! I am hoping that they are just catching up and getting everybody out in the next week or so.
 
So..

2.3/8/256 ordered on italian edu store on 6/27... Its still processing.

ETA 7/26 - 8/1... This is ridiculous!

Did you call the customer service? I'm curious if they'd offer you something in exchange for the wait (like the superdrive - I guess the expedited shipping isn't available for EU orders. Or is it?).
My ETA also hasn't changed since 7/5.
 
Mine is in transit to be delivered today... Finally the long wait is over. Hope everyone gets theirs ASAP.

Wow, that's fast. I guess this means that the 2.3/16/256 is in higher demand, as orders from end-of-June/beginning-of-July are still being shipped.
 
Mine is sitting at the destination facility.
I called to see if I can pick it up and it says it's inelligible for pickup and it will be delivered Wednesday. WTF?
