Macbook Pro 2012 Order Status thread (all models)

Have been a lurker of this forum ever since I ordered on 6/28, but thought I'd join to see if anyone is having a similar experience as me.

Ordered 2.3/16/256 on 6/28. "Shipped" on 7/20. Does anyone know why my rMBP has yet to leave Shanghai?

I've gotten extremely frustrated with this whole process, and it has definitely tarnished some of the excitement of getting this laptop.

Yes, probably has to do with the FedEx flights, mine is stuck in Memphis at the moment as there was no FedEx flights from Memphis to Vancouver over the weekend... I assume yours might be in a similar position, probably need to wait for a FedEx flight to leave Shanghai to Anchorage or Memphis.. since Apple has already given the package to FedEx, take out your anger on those guys.. Apple has done its part

Fedex forgot my package in Memphis WTF?!?!

It was supposed to be delivered by 12:00 this morning and the estimated delivery date by fedex was today , but somehow my package stuck in Memphis.
Anyone had similar experience?

I hope fedex doesn't hold my package to meet apple estimated delivery date which was JUL 25th

I'm in the exact same boat as you and we will probably be in the same shipment. I ordered on July 2nd and got my Shipped email on Saturday. I still had no tracking info or courier info and was hoping that would all come today but so far, no luck. My order is going to Stockholm so it seems European merging of card and computer is really slow. They gave me a Shipped By date of Aug. 2nd. As with yourself, I really can't believe it can take that long.

No merging yet... I don't understand why apple should think I'm not interested in knowing how long it will take before the packages merge, they should just give tracking number for both of them; at least I could plan my week.

Have you got any news about your shipment?

The email said we should receive tracking info within 24 hours of the computer shipping so I will wait until tomorrow before calling them.

That's valid only for shipments which already merged, for Merge-in-Transit Shipments:

Please Note: Your items dispatched from different locations and will be merged together before delivery. Once merged, your Order Status will be updated with carrier and tracking information (at latest 48 business hours before your estimated delivery date).

So we could receive a tracking number as late as Monday 30st in the morning...

I will wait until tomorrow before calling them.

Did you phone apple by any chance?
If you called, could you report me what they said?
It's so useless to try to call the Italian division of Apple...

Just spoke to FedEx who said there is a 9:30am flight leaving out of Shanghai (it is currently 9:16 locally there) so hopefully we will be on that!

-Preparing for shipment on 7/20
-Shipped on 7/20
-Delivered on 7/23

It's pretty awesome, but I'm downloading the gigabytes of updates and apple servers are pretty slow right now.....

Non-retina apps look pretty fuzzy. I guess I am back to using Safari as my browser until Chrome is updated.

Can FedEx hold the rMBP for pick-up even before a first delivery attempt is made?

also, just ordered a rMBP on Friday and noticed that the ship times went to 1-2 weeks from 2-3 when I ordered. So on my order status page the deliver dates are actually later than what they would be if I would order today. Does it make sense to cancel or re-order?

rMBP Home Sweet Home!

My rMBP has arrived (2 days before the earliest estimated delivery date)!

The machine is absolutely beautiful. I'm typing this message on my 2007 MBP (can't stand to put too much wear on my rMBP just yet), and the non-retina screen is almost hurting my eyes... After a cursory look, my rMBP seems absolutely perfect. No dead pixels, no bleeding, no creaking--no nothing.

I've spent way too much time on this thread... It's sure been fun, though! Good luck to everyone else!

yeah we must be on the same shipment then cuz mine has been in transit since 4:12 PM memphis time as well, I think the're just waiting for the first plane, which will take off 4:32 am memphis time to vancouver (link below)... FedEx had no flights on Sunday hence thats why its been sitting there waiting for a plane 2 more days and we should get them... if we are lucky maybe even tomorrow

Good. You did better than me. I called Fedex and I got told that 1) China is far so it takes a while. and 2) Tuesday at 9am (the time in China when I called Fedex) is the beginning of their work week.

Basically the guy I spoke to was completely useless.

I'm still refreshing mine and it still hasn't moved.

yes. you just have to request which location. You can do that from the tracking page.

mbp 2.5/8/500 ordered July 21st on Edu, ETA July 27-Jul 31st.

Got an email tonight that stuff is shipping out. got super excited then saw it was just the $100 gift card. MBP is still in "processing". totally bummed me out, but guess its good I caught it early before getting my package expecting the unit and its just the card lol. would have been all my rage

Eh, it looks like my mbp went into "Preparing for Shipment" a few hours after this. how long have people gotten hung up at this? it seems like most people are having troubles with it hanging at processing for days if not weeks if not months.

either way, hoping it makes it in good time. my first apple computer, excited for a new toy to play with.

if you don't mind, what config did you order and what was the order date? congrats! it seems that the "preparing to ship" stage is typically shorter than 12hrs.

Congrats to you, but man this is crap. I ordered on 7/11 and am still stuck in "processing" would you mind pm-ing me your order number? I would like to show it to the apple rep and find out why this is happening. If you are uncomfortable with that I understand, it would just be nice to get some answers from someone at apple.

What configuration did you order? I ordered mine on the same day, and it's still processing.

Base model with 16GB of RAM. I ordered it from the EDU store and picked up an extra charger, the VGA/DVI adapters and the Ethernet adapter.

I wasn't expecting it for another few weeks so It was a nice surprise!

My rMBP (base model with US keyboard, ordered on 7/5, was preparing for shipment for 20 hours or so) just got shipped. It's with the TNT though and the estimated delivery is on 8/1. Seems excessively long (no merging, as PL EDU store orders don't get gift cards - I still think it's unfair).

Well, I ordered on the 22nd of June through a reseller (JB HiFi in Sydney, Australia) and after four long weeks of waiting, it looks like it will be on the flight out of Shanghai tomorrow night! Gotta admit, when I was told after three weeks of waiting that it might not be arriving for another few weeks, the excitement of rMBP turned into bitter disappointment. But, now there is a light at the end of the tunnel and I'm hoping it will be worth the wait
