My quote was actually myself, so that info was mine hehe. MBP, the most base model 2.5/8/500, ordered on the 21st. And youre right, i woke up this morning and its moved into "shipped", but still hanging in china atm.
Wow, i was getting antsy because it was gonna take a week to get to me, but other ppl have been waiting for a month or longer. Almost feel bad mine is coming so quickly in comparison, but it seems like the holdup is primarily on the retina units.

Wait... 2.5/8/500... Either you meant 2.3/8/256 or you got a regular non-retina MBP.

After it had been stuck in Memphis with no movement at all on Sunday, I was pretty down. But patience pays off, and 2 days shy of 4 weeks after ordering, today's the day!!
 
After a customs clearance snag in Memphis, it made its way to Houston and it's to be delivered today. Woot!

Ordered June 27.
2.3/16/256 config.

It doesn't. I was being facetious. It's the reasoning the Fedex customer rep was using to try and explain to me why the package has been stuck in China for 4 days.

It's finally coming.....
Just called fedex and tried to pick up at the airport, but the lady said they have to try at least one attempt for delivery before they can hold for pick up.

Is everyone getting clearance delay in Memphis? Mine has it and I'm wondering how common this is and how long it will take to clear up.

I reckon my 2.3/18/256 ordered on 04/07 will arrive into Heathrow at 20:00 on 25/07. Estimated deliver of the 31st looking likely! fingers crossed for before!
 
I've almost given up hope on getting my laptop by this weekend. It's so frustrating watching all of these July 5th, 6th, 10th, 12th orders to out while my July 4th order just sits. Even with my new free SuperDrive that should arrive today it is pretty annoying. Maybe I need or stop following this thread...
 
Did anyone get an email from the Apple store saying that their MacBook would ship earlier than expected, and with an exact date of dispatch???

Im curious to know if anyone who got this kind of email like me, actually had their unit ship earlier than the date in their email, as my expected date of dispatch su#ks!!!

I had clearance delay in China, from what it seems like. If i'm going to get another clearance delay in Memphis I may run into oncoming traffic.

Heard that. And I only ordered a stock baseline model.

This is riduclous! I ordered the same model as you except a day before and it's still not done processing. Can you send me your order number so I can complain to apple? Haha!

JAX, I'm with you. Ordered 2.6/16/512 on July 4th, and still stuck at processing. I think I've finally figured it out. Foxconn hates America. July 4th orders are processed with least priority.

Least, that's all I can think of to explain this stupidness. With no other company would I be okay with this pitiful treatment of an order. And yet... here I am, at Apple's whim, waiting desperately for something I paid for weeks ago with still no hope for arrival!
 
Just picked up my 2.7/16/512 and there appears to be 4 or more dead pixels or at least 4 different spots where one can see imperfections in the pixel lattice. Have not tested for ghosting yet... tint looks right, no blemishes, didn't notice any external damage dents or scratches, screen is really amazing aside from the imperfections....

... wait a second...

I just used the black cloth supplied in the box and now the pixels... are not dead.. looked like they sort of jumped around then vanished...

Am I tripping or is it possible that the pixels are needing a ... massage? I appear to have massaged away with the black cloth the dead pixels...
Is that the way these displays work?

K... now looks like the original dead pixels are gone and replaced by two others that are more persistent... near the same area.

also I can only see them as "dead" from a certain angle. I cannot notice them dead from all angles. Now the 4 are gone and two new ones remain...

Not sure if i'm going to make a big issue about this or not... Maybe these "dead pixels" are just a ephemeral issue.

you not even 3 weeks in. What did you delivery time state? 3 - 4 weeks for shipping?

Be patience....you will probably get it early.

dead pixels should be perfectly square and if it is only one.....EXTREMELY small.

Ordered July 4th as well. But hey, at least you're getting something worth $80 for free... D:
 
Mine has just landed in LHR and now got to wait till friday for it to reach me so the next 3 days are going to drag.

Also the flight went direct from Shanghai and London Heathrow which is an added bonus seems others have had theirs go around most of europe on a sight seeing tour.
