Hey man, thanks for your help. It got me a free backpack from apple so that is cool, but that is about it. There was nothing else they could do. They pretty much asked to stop calling b/c they couldn't make it ship any faster.
Interesting, because I ordered the same thing on 7/14 and ain't ish changed. I haven't gotten any of these emails people have mentioned either.

Hey Ryan, congrats. I received a similar mail from apple, curious though. Did you get an exact date of dispatch, like me, and did it ship on this date of sooner???

Thats not necessarily a bad thing, I got an email with an exact date of dispatch, however it's the same date I was originally expecting the mbpr to deliver, so I'll have to add shipping time etc. to this date meaning I probably won't receive it sometime late in my eta delivery dates
I imagine my 7/2 order (2.3/16/256) is going to be in the same shipment as rkdiddy and Muffin87. Both Muffin87 and I got "Merge in Transit" messages when we try to get tracking info. There is no shipper or Tracking number available and that info won't be available until our gift cards and computers have been merged into one package somewhere along the way.
Today I got an email from Apple with my invoice and it contains the serial number to my new rMBP so I can at least download ML when it is released at some point today.

I guess it only works if you don't have an assigned carrier - I can only track my order on the TNT site (package taken hostage in Pudong, as were all the others TNT-dispatched orders).

I've seen people in the UK thread mentioning https://atlas.flextronics.com/apps/tracktrace/trk_tracking.asp
(region Europe, customer ref. APP). Maybe that will work for you?
Neither has worked for me, but I got an assigned carrier form the beginning.
Although im not 100% sure I have found entering my customer reference number 8**** etc. into http://expox.expeditors.com/ has shown that my order is ona flight to London as we speak! fingers crossed it will make it to Manchester in time for the weekend!
Got mine on 23/7 (dd/m). It listed as shipped Thursday 19/7, was received by the carrier Friday (TNT). Shanghai to Adelaide by Monday, standard shipping. Not bad, no issues with TNT.
Been using it since Monday, only good things to say so far. Aside from some blurry assets and a scrolling hiccup here and there, it is pretty flawless.

The annoying thing about TNT is that they fly out of Pudong only every other day, at 7am local time. You were lucky, as yours was sent out the next day, but someone here mentioned, that his/her package waited in Pudong for over 60 hours (the plane was delayed I guess). I hope they will send mine tomorrow (TNT received it yesterday).
