Did anyone have their order change from processing to preparing during the day in the US? I'm wondering if I should keep checking my status since it's almost midnight in China. Not sure if they work around the clock there, but it wouldn't surprise me.

On the 13th. I have a small list of orders for the same model, shipping to the same country (US), via the Education store, placed after that date which have all been shipped. And these were all new orders, not replacements for returns. Apple refuse to discuss this peculiarity with me.

Yeah, mine was stuck in some customs snafu... clearance delay, too. Once it was released, I got it the next day. From Memphis to Houston. See attached.

Your clearance delay was about 5.5 hrs. Mine has been stuck there for 9.5 hours already although maybe at 2 am when it first got stuck was too early or anything to move ahead. So maybe I can hope to see a change by the end of the work day...
No, my clearance delay was about 1 day and 5 hours. Got caught on 22nd at 11am, wasn't released until the next day at 4:30pm.
You have already waited some 2-4 weeks - no need to worry about a few hours. The wait will make the reward even sweeter.
I thought the same, but mine changed at about 2:00pm yesterday central time. (I live in Illinois.)
It then moved into shipping about 10:00pm central time too.
My status just changed as well "preparing for shipment" oh joy!

Looks like Shanghai is 13 hours ahead of us. So that would be 3 am and 11 am. Good to know it can change at any time.
Aha! Ordered 7/14 a 2.3/16/256 with Edu discount and regular shipping; card pre-authorized today and "Preparing for Shipment". Expected delivery was Aug 6-10.

I ordered the same thing, same day and my arrival dates were August 6-10. Are you sure it was the 3rd?

No mountain lion was not installed, but i had already bought it for my macbook and and macbook pro so the first thing i did when i turned it on was update to it. I didnt do a fresh install, dont have any empty flash drives
Finally after weeks of waiting, it has arrived! I even got to go home early today!! Backing up my MBA to time machine before booting up! I will let you know if it has lion or mountain lion!
transferring time machine now! The screen is even beautiful on the setup screen!!!

Congrats! What was your order date, shipping method, and estimated arrival dates? Which model is it?
