Has anybody managed to pick up a package at a local FedEx office on Saturday or do you have to wait until a delivery is attempted first before you can redirect it to be help at an office. The first 3 FedEx reps I called said I could pick it up today (Saturday) as long as the package was at a service center that was open and not locked down in a container where it was inaccessible. But the 4th rep I talked with said there was absolutely no way they will let me pick it up because of a restriction that Apple put on it that one delivery attempt has to be made first. It seems stupid to make a delivery attempt first when the service center is like 2 miles away from me and I know I'll be at work on Monday. Any thoughts? And I kind of want my laptop today since I won't have much time to play with it next week. Any thoughts?

I def think so my shipped from China on a saturday and arrived on monday and was not suppose to show up until wed. It was like super fast so i think you will get it early. Just watch the tracking if it leaves memphis by tomorrow night it def will.
Ah yeah, I should mention that I had expedited shipping. Also, the tracking page said the estimated delivery date was Wednesday, but it still arrived on Monday (and pretty early in the day too - it was available for pick up right at 9AM)
I have expedited shipping too. Both of them have been picked up, but strangely one was picked up after the FedEx cutoff, whatever that means.
So part of me expects to see one of them on Monday and the other one on Tuesday
As long as they arrive without any return-worthy issues, I'll be happy. Apple will still get their tersely-worded letter though about the shambolic handling of orders.

Looks like the first is on a plane to either Anchorage or Memphis, the other is sitting at the fedex depot in shanghai.

My 2.3/16/256 is literally less than an hour away from me at a sorting facility, and my expected ship date is Tuesday? Monday is looking like it would make a lot more sense... I'll be counting on Monday

that happened to me, my expected delivery was mon, it arrived on fri.

Hey your first one and my replacement are on the same plane it is going to Memphis they are fx48 (http://flightaware.com/live/flight/FDX48/history/20120728/1500Z/ZSPD/KMEM) they still have about 8hrs until they land in Memphis when first one came it was on this flight and arrived Monday hopefully yours does the same !

Mine is sitting about 10 min away locked in a shipping container. I am almost certain I will get on Monday ( est delivery date is tue by 10:30).

When tracking the shipment through apple.com you get 2 furthers strings of numbers, can i ask which of these can be used to further track the item through ups etc.? Does this need to become live first or something?

It's definitely a speedy one! The SSD has to be my favorite part, with Photoshop files and multiple images loading nearly instantly. Also having it nearly impossible to run out of RAM is a plus
I'm praying that my next one won't have any screen issues. This is going to be my 4th one, and I will not hesitate to keep exchanging until I get one with a flawless screen.

Which 2 numbers? On my order page, it just has a big 'Track Shipment' button. You also should've got an email with the tracking number and a tracking button.
Delays with the 8GB version of rMBP
Hey guys, I have been searching around for people who ordered the 8GB version in July. I have ordered mine on 14th and my friends have ordered theirs on 3rd and 8th and we're still stuck on the processing items stage. Could you please post your order date and the shipment date if available? Thanks.

My base model was ordered on July 13th and went from processing to shipping last night. Today it appears to be relaxing in Shanghai before the long trip to Oregon. Fedex says it will be delivered on August 2nd. That was the earliest date that Apple had promised. I chose standard free delivery. Hoping for Fedex to overachieve and deliver on the August 1st.

I noticed the FedEx plane from Shanghai to memphis leaves at 11 pm each night. Does this basically mean that mine is on that flight? The whole tracking and figuring out when it actually left on the plane is confusing me.

Mine said "In transit" when it left Shanghai, I think yours still in China, not sure though.
