One more question, how come between 2.6 and 2.7 it's 225$. When Between 2.4 and 2.6 is only
100$.

It was so quick for you, maybe they sent you one that was returned (not that it would be faulty necessarily).

The jump to 2.7 GHz is more expensive than the one below, because you get the full 8 MB of L3 cache in addition to the additional speed bin. Basically, the non-gimped, fully enabled i7.

Wait what???
I can't have a defective or refurbished one,
I am leaving overseas right after it arrives so I have no time to open it. And I am planning to use this for atleast 5 years.
Maybe it's early cause I am in new York.

That was total conjecture on my part, I have no idea if Apple even do that.

My rMBP is still in China right now and that status has been "export" scan for almost a day now :( Is this normal? I'm with UPS.

Mine's just shipped too! Oh happy days :) Says I should get it by the 17th which is good as that was the first day of my estimate.

Yepp. My shipment confirmation says "at 21th or earlier than 21th" because at first its going to Prague to merge it with the gift card. Oh I'm so excited :D

ordered a 2.3/16/256 on 12/7 at my local Apple Premium Reseller... It was shipped, they told me, but until now it does not have arrived....

Damn italian suppliers!
thats why Italy has financial problems these days!

I ordered mine (2.3/256/16) on August 2nd, and it shipped yesterday morning, but it's been at a "local FedEx facility" in Shanghai for over 24 hours. Has anyone else encountered this?

how come u guys didnt spend the extra 100 for 2.6 over 2.3?

ordered before those fancy processor upgrades were available...
but overall I don't care about that .3ghz - I think, I will be able to do everything I want!

edit: and this:

No you won't feel the difference. In addition the 2.6 should be get a bit warmer and thats not good for a flat portable system ;)

Woohoo!

Ordered 8/2, shipped 8/9, estimated delivery 8/13, but it's on the truck this morning!

I woke up to see it was at the destination sort facility, and then a couple hours later it was at the local FedEx facility 15 minutes away, but I didn't think it would actually deliver today. I actually called FedEx to see if there was any way to pick it up before first delivery had been attempted (there wasn't), but here it comes!

Oddly enough, it flew Shanghai to Memphis, and then backtracked to Portland, OR.

EDIT: This is a rMBP, 2.6/16/256

2.3, 16gb ram and 250 something gb SSD lol

but dammit i didnt know u can upgrade to 2.6ghz for 100 more, i somehow missed that, would a .3ghz make a difference or worth the extra 100?

+1. Initially ordered a 2.6 GHz, changed my mind for a 2.3 GHz as I realized I should favor battery life and cooler operating temperature over very minimal performance gains.

Those would only be visible in highly compute intensive tasks like video encoding. Even then, the difference would be negligible given the total duration of such tasks.

If I had to upgrade, I would make the leap to the 2.7 GHz with its full 8 MB of L3 cache (satisfaction of owning a fully enabled chip), however the price difference can't be justified sanely.

I had the same situation. I just noticed some movement on my shipment. fedex picked up my shipment well over 24 hrs before.

Oh what?! I ordered the same specs (but 2.3 instead) on August 2nd. Did your tracking data even say there was an international shipment?
