Some people called and said it was like the macbook air. Also I looked at the keynote video where they showed the whole internals and I do not seem DIMM's anywhere. Pretty sure its not user upgradable =( Sucks.
 
Just bought UPDATED Macbook pro 15 inch

I just ordered my new updated Macbook pro 15 inch from apple.com (BTW, I used pick up at store)
I'm going to be there before the store opens to get the first one sold :p

Lucky Option doesn't even show on the apple site for canada.
 
Just ordered the new retina! More excited than I can explain. Literally counting the days, said 2-3 weeks to ship but hey, I waited this long. :apple:

SO EXCITED to be an apple user!
 
now changed to: Ships: 2-3 weeks

On-line status for both "STOCK" MacBook Pro with Retina display from the Apple store has now changed to:
Ships: 2-3 weeks :(
 
I ordered around 5 PM EST, 15'' Retina 2.7 GHz w/ 16 GB of RAM. I've yet to even get an order confirmation email... Still says 5 - 7 business days, but I'm not holding my breath. Wonder what's taking the email so long, though?
 
Ordered about 4:00 EST, base model + 16 GB RAM, Ethernet and Magsafe converter, through edu store (Canada)

Got an acknowledgement at 9:23, but site said I had to call as action was required. When I called they said some of these went out in error, but nothing was wrong and my order would be released within 24 hours and keep the initial 5-7 day shipping date.

I've noticed in the Canadian store it's now 2-3 weeks.

Apple should send you a E-mail with any shipping time updates. If they said 5-7 days at the beginning they should have meant it. And once there stock ran out they updated the website to resemble the time it takes to get more. :)
 
Ordered 13 MBP base at 8pm EST, still processing....hoping in a 5-7 days, we'll see :D

I ordered when it was in the 2-3 day period so I'm pretty excited. I can't wait to get rid of my Sony Vaio.
 
I didn't realize the emails were all going to the "billing" email address. I actually got mine at 6PM for a 3:30ish order (base 15" retina + 16 GB ram)
 
I placed my order around 2PM PST via the telephone and received an order confirmation about 4 hours later. My order status is:

Action required: We have attempted to contact you regarding your order. Please contact us at1-800-692-7753, Option 2.

I called Apple and they said this status was set in error to most people who purchased their laptops using the Education discount today, and that you can disregard it unless it doesn't clear within 24 hours.

So with that in mind, I paid for the 2-3 day shipping ($15) and my order estimate is June 25th-28th for my base model 15" Retina.

Same here mine will not arrive until July 9th the latest hopefully they ship earlier and their supply grows and things go faster. I just parted with $$ and it has never felt so good. MBP Retina XD WOOOOOOOOOT!!!! Here goes another 7 years of a notebook. Money well spent :D

Glad I am not the only one who used the education discount and got that error. I did receive an email acknowledging my order. Mine should arrive between June 22 and June 26.
 
Placed my order within 30 min of them going up (5-7 business days). Am yet to receive a confirmation email but my credit card has been charged! Has anyone else been charged yet?

Yea they have them. I work for their shipping provider and most Apple stores got their big shipments last saturday June 8th.

That is one hell of an upgrade!

I went with the 2.7Ghz, 512GB flash, 16GB RAM - Lot's of customizations. They moved me from the 5-7 day to the 7-10 day shipping estimate overnight. :/

Oh well. I guess I'm picky.
