I have a BTO of retina machine fully expanded.
I have a 3~5 week shipping window.
I called and the said that was normal, but the shipping estimates on the website seem to have fallen now?
Tried calling but they said that my time is actually accurate.
Anyone else with a similar build have other dates?

I called to see about upgrading my shipping and the phone support did it for free. They said they couldn't do anything about the processing time but I should get it a couple days earlier. The earlier the better as I need to get it before I go on vacation (out of town).
Ordered a base RMPB yesterday with a TBolt to Enet, MS to MS2 adapter and AppleCare, all shipped via the faster option.
This morning the MS to MS2 adapter was updated to Prepared to ship with estimated delivery of this Thursday.
As the RMBP itself? It says delivery time of as early as next Thursday (21st).
Can't wait, my 07 MBP needs a replacement lol.
PS Looks like I was lucky to order it early, mine said it'll ship in 5-7 days.

Haha I just called Apple and they said that the upgraded shipping will be the same speed as the standard shipping. She said that once is ships it will take about 3 days for both the upgraded shipping and standard shipping to get the products from China.
I guess processing means that they are still building my computer!

when i ordered a mac online last year, i called b.c i actually wanted to upgrade a few things.....their words "b.c this has been an inconvenience to you, you would you like a free ihome speakers and magic track pad"

after reading this I did the same thing, they did upgrade the shipping for me but it cost me an additional $14
but Instead of receiving my items on July 2 the phone support said I can get it as early as June 26. Not bad.
I can also confirm the free upgraded shipping. Just got off the phone with apple, they upgraded the shipping for everything I ordered. The rep also said that the build time should be quicker than what it says on the site, but not getting my hopes up for that.
When I called I just said I wanted to change my shipping method to expedited, didn't ask about the cost. Then the rep said I just updated your shipping free of charge.

Similar scenario with my free shipping. The rep apologized for the inconvenience (of me not choosing expedited shipping yesterday???). Was tempted to see what other freebies they would part with for this "inconvenience"...
I called Apple and they told me "processing" means my order is being custom configured (in the queue, etc.). They said it'd be changed to "preparing for shipment" as soon as its built and ready to go out the door.
They did confirm they got a successful authorization for my payment, etc.. One less thing to worry about

All this stupidness could of been avoided so easily, simply by having shipments ready at apple stores, or if secrecy is a concern, putting the release date back a couple of days while allowing pre-orders online/over the phone, to give retail staff time to recieve shipments etc.
7 units for sale at apples flagship store in London the day after release is just ridiculous. Imagine if that was the case for the iPhone! Also staff misleading customers saying they are 'definitely' available when they don't actually have a clue just makes me angry!
It's almost as if Apple and it's employees thrive off the hype and uncertainty.. Oh wait

Also here to chime in that customer service upgraded me to expedited shipping free of charge. My rep said that the June 21-25 delivery date was computer-generated and that they're aiming to have it out to me even sooner than that, but who knows if that will actually happen.
