Was in the 7-10 day group and had some credit card issues. Worked them out with Apple on the phone yesterday and got this. It changed at about 3:00pm Central for those curious.

Also, mines on a plane to the states due for delivery by Thursday and I still haven't been charged. How great would it be to walk away with a free laptop haha.

WOOOOOOOHHOOOOO mine just changed to perparing to ship too, had the same problem!

7-10 day's
Base model with CC issues at first

I think there is only a few more 7-10 people left!!!

ah....found a comrade.. mine is suppose to be in MA by tomorrow morning.. :(

Seriously, wtf! I expected it to be in Memphis by now. They still have a delivery date of June 20th for me in VA. Not sure if it will actually make it, given that I don't see any flights out of Anchorage that it could be on!

At least at this point I don't have to keep obsessively checking because they will send out an email once they ship it.

I personally went through the education store even though I'm well out of college right now for more than a year. There wasn't any sort of validation that was required, other than simply going into the education store and picking your School and Zip Code. Having worked in Apple Retail before, I know that students need to bring their student IDs as well as a valid form of ID like a state ID or a driver's license, and only then would they get the $$$ discount.

But online, this is the first time I'm ordering through the education store for myself, so I didn't think it would be this easy! I have my student ID valid till next year, so I'll be more than happy to furnish proof if Apple does raise any questions. :)

Ohhh ic looks like they have changed that then.

Yeah ... based on the tracking I was kinda hoping for an early delivery. Not anymore.

I ordered mine at 6:30pm day of announcement and I'm in the 2-3 weeks group.

Ships: 2 - 3 Weeks
Delivers Jun 29 - Jul 6 via 2-3 Business Days
MBP Retina - 2.3GHz/256GB/16GB
Student Discount

I assumed the date was so far out because (1) it was a build-to-order with the 16GB RAM and (2) student discount. Total speculation but I figured the discounted orders would be slightly less priority.

Lord, please grant me patience... and I want it NOW!

No kidding. The 2-3 weeks should come back here next week. There are still 7-10 day people to go through and remember it is BUSINESS days, not just days.

I don't think we're being that obnoxious. I think the 3-4 week-ers are being more impatient.

Considering that many 7-10 day shipments have occurred LESS THAN 7 business days since ordering, we have reason to believe ours may ship or at least change status this week as well.

I think the point was that until the 2-3 week orders start to show some sort of progress, posting "2-3 week order here -- nothing," is doing absolutely nothing but cluttering up the thread.

Whoah...I'm shipping mine to Lindenhurst! Luckily, I'll have it by Thursday :)

It's my first mac, but I was going to buy the best new macbook pro this year whether they made it retina or not.

I see a lot of Chicagoans on this forum, good to know there's some local representation :)

Congrats on your first Mac, use it in good health!
