In the US you buy them from stock, don't you?
In germany mostly you wait 1-5 months, but I also know cases where you can wait 1 year or more.

But thats OT ;)

What does "OT" stand for?

And yes, generally, it's immediately ready (meaning less than two days) unless you get rare modifications like spoilers.

Yeah, now I'm thinking of the "Black Addict Wasabi" http://www.be-ez.com/tl_files/produ...kaddict/jpeg/LArobe-blackwasabi-openfront.jpg

Hope it fits then ;) I already have a bag for the computer.

Thats the one I have now!! If your looking for something durable and reliable then its a good sleeve, no frills though

Oh I thought OT comes from US Forums, it just stands short for Off Topic - sorry.

Okay, you only get such a short time in germany when you buy a used car.
I see big advantages in both ways, our cars are tailored so you only pay what you really need or you can get it exactly as you want it.
But with your method you can get it a lot faster, which is nice.

Sweet! I will purchase that sleeve then for my Retina MacBook Pro. I think it's gonna be ok :)

Look into the fug by crumpler or the suede sleeve from SFbags, i ordered the SFbag one and own the crumpler for my MBA.

Both are very nice

Omgaddd its killing meeee

I'm sure it's used here as well, but I don't spend too much time on forums.

The thing is, we get both. Think about buying a MBP... you can get a base configuration shipped out the same day, or you can wait a week for them to build your custom order. It's the same with cars, but 2 days or so for a common model, but if you want bells and whistles, you can get them in two weeks or so. I don't think I've ever heard anyone in the US wait longer than a month.

In France, my neighbor waited six months for a typical Peugeot, which messed with my American "I want it NOW" mentality.

Still listed as being in Anchorage :( So much for hoping it arrives one day early. First world problems

I know... right?! Why must we suffer so... :) I had managed to convince myself it would be arriving early. I guess we can hardly complain about on time delivery.

My gift card shipped!!! Should be here thursday or friday. It should tide me over until my MacBook Pro gets here on tuesday or wednesday of next week.

They charged me $119.13 for the gift card. I trust everything balances out in the end...?

Ordered on Sat. June 16 MBPR

Hello all I am a 3-4 Weeker Ordered mine June 16.

This time is quite normal over hear, because every car is individually made {when you order/buy them you must configure your car, which means there are also base line models with lesser equipment which you normally get a bit faster} (by some kind of car e.g. VW Phaeton; you can watch the building process in the factory)

In the US you buy them from stock, don't you?

lol sure but thats a WHOLE car! A little more complicated than a laptop.

Yeh a little more info on this page would be nice!

2.3GHz, 16GB RAM, Ordered June 15, 2012

I just wanted to put my hand up and say I'm also part of the 3-4 weeks group, shipping to Grayslake, IL, and this wait is killing me! Especially since this will be my first ever Mac, so the excitement is palpable.

In the meantime, I went ahead and ordered a case for the beast from Hard Graft for 65GBP, specifically this: http://www.hardgraft.com/products/xii-macbook-heritage

Its a beautiful, classy case, and I would highly recommend this or the 15in Folio case made by them for around 120GBP. Sure, its quite expensive for a case, but a classy MacBook Pro deserves a classy case.

Cheers, and hoping to join the club soon.

Yep, 3-4 weeker here, ordered 13th Jun, Delivery 12-18 Jul.

Enjoying the thread while I wait, not at all pissed off with Apple, as I know it said 3-4 weeks when I clicked the button. ;) Just hopeful it may come earlier.

Lots of people seem to have ordered through education store are you all students or is there another way to get the education discount?

Just watching the football here in the UK (yes another rubbish england performance so far, come on england!!) and the retina macbook pro just got advertised on tv! In small print at the bottom it did say "Limited Availability" no ***** sherlock...

I personally went through the education store even though I'm well out of college right now for more than a year. There wasn't any sort of validation that was required, other than simply going into the education store and picking your School and Zip Code. Having worked in Apple Retail before, I know that students need to bring their student IDs as well as a valid form of ID like a state ID or a driver's license, and only then would they get the $$$ discount.

But online, this is the first time I'm ordering through the education store for myself, so I didn't think it would be this easy! I have my student ID valid till next year, so I'll be more than happy to furnish proof if Apple does raise any questions. :)

seems like the Retina Macbook Pro is the 1st mac to a lot of people, i think this is what apple intended with this product.

This will be my second mac laptop since my 1999 Lombard Powerbook G3
I've had a mac mini in between but since sold it.

Hopefully like most it will ship faster than 3-4 Weeks.

It's my first mac, but I was going to buy the best new macbook pro this year whether they made it retina or not.
