I'm in canada too, I called saying I didn't receive my giftcard yet (supposed to be yesterday) so they upgraded my shipping to expedited. Changed from Jul13-19 to July 12-18 .. not much of a difference i guess.. Better than nothing! :)

Please tell me someone else has had "Clearance delay - import" in Mississauga a day before delivery and that it was still delivered on the same day :( I don't want to wait any longer! >_<
 
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it a Chinese holiday Friday through Sunday?

Dragon Boat Festival or something. We may not be seeing movement tomorrow.
 
So after canceling and reordering my original 2-3 week macbook on the 19th it was then moved to 3-4 weeks. It already shipped and is expected to be here the 25th.

Dragon Boat Festival was June 12. Nothing this weekend.

Weird. I called and complained about the same thing but the lady on my end still made me pay for it. Then again she was super rude and kept cutting me off so maybe I got a bad representative or something.
my estimated date only went back one day as well.
 
Long time reader but finally register for an account to post here! my 15 inch should be here between 27-29th! Been waiting for ivy bridge macbook to release since my 13 inch core 2 duo was stolen in march -.-

Could be that they are no longer offering it now that they are have some leeway on orders right now until next week. Or it could be that a few of us who actually paid $15 upfront for expedited shipping at the time ordering called them and asked for them to refund the shipping given many of you are were unfairly getting it for free, sometimes without even asking for it, while others paid for it. Or could be you were just unlucky and probably should try again.
 
I called with every intention on paying for expedient shipping. I got it for free without even hinting about asking. In fact I didn't even see it coming lol. The lady told me my new estimated delivery with expediate shipping and i expressed that i was dissapointed it only bumped up by a day. She went on to explain the high demand and before I knew it she just offered me free next day shipping. Very cool employee.

Given the time zones differences between China and US, expedited is essentially overnight as long as you live within a hundred miles of a major airport. Anything farther probably might need a day on the highway to get to your local facility.
 
And this, ladies and gentlemen is why Prof. needs his new MBP to hurry up and get to his apartment. :eek:

I don't know precisely how it happened, but it occurs every time i reboot the computer. I have to reset the PRAM every time it boots, then shut it down, then take out the battery, then reset the PRAM again, then wait for it to boot, then restart it for it to go away.

My opinion is to GET A NEW MAC!

Sounds like it could be a problem with the BIOS or the logic board itself...

My 15" MBP should be here on tuesday. Once I get it, I'm going to wipe everything on my current computer and reinstall the OS. I hope that fixes the problem.

I would recommend doing a Zero-Out of the drive using disk utility. It may take awhile, but IMO its well worth it, especially because it turns it into a bare drive.

did you get the rMBP?

I might do that.

I didn't get the rMBP. I got the 15" legacy MacBook Pro. It has the same specs as the rMBP, just not a retina display.

slightly jealous, but because I have to have the newest best thing, i got the rMBP, set for June 29-July 6 (hopefully). I know i could have had the non-retina already, but i decided to get what i hope will be a crazy fast laptop.
 
im sched for delivery jul 12th (3-4 week group).

i ordered the 2.3 model but want to switch to the 2.6 model. will i get bumped all the way to the end for making this change?

Yes, but my advise is go ahead and do it. You'll only get a week or two added to your order, and its something that you might regret 4 months from now for not doing.
