MacBook Pro 2021 Launch Day Store Stock

I have a shopping appointment at 10 too! Luckily Apple is only 10 minutes away. But if I can secure one online, I'll just go pick it up this afternoon.
 
No pickup available at 8am here. Maybe it really do be 5am PDT everywhere.
edit: same for AirPods. Other non-launch items are available for pickup though.
 
Yea my local Apple Store is opening at 11am today and it states that *Special Hours apply. I wish I still knew people inside because I used to work at this particular Apple Store 8 years ago but as of today I don't think there's a single person left who I worked with

Where are you at that it's 8AM in the U.S.? That's not possible as EST is 7:04 right now.

so you used to work there, what does special hours mean? does apple open earlier on launch day?
 
Seems like in the East Coast we're gonna have to walk to the stores in in-person to get a chance of getting 1 as they're opening up soon and no online reservation possible.....

Most of the special hours now are related to COVID since a lot of stores still aren’t operating at pre-COVID hours.
 
Man. Hopefully only another hour to go so I can place my order and go back to sleep. Glad to see I’m not the only one losing sleep over a new computer.

Does your store open earlier than 11am? Or are they doing shopping appointments before official store hours now? That would kinda make sense since Covid continues to wreak havoc on normal operating procedures...Did you have to call in to schedule a shopping appt or can you use the Apple Store app?
 
Hoping for 8 am as my old machine has already been traded in and I really don’t want to wait a month for a shipped machine.
 
This sucks. Every year there is something with the Apple ordering system. And why on earth do they have no 32gb ram mid priced options.
 
so basically the stores will open their physical doors and online orders at the same time, on the east coast at least.
 
At least I got my Apple cloth but seems I have to wait until December for my M1 Max (64GB, 2TB) in the US as Apple stores are not selling stock it seems. Perhaps they do in-person but I have to be at work. Still hoping but looks bleak given that it's already nearing 8AM.

apple can do what they want, people are addicted, i mean they are selling microfiber cloths that cost $0.10 for $20, hahaha

I admire your optimism. Maybe those of us who aren’t able to get the macbook we want today can at least grab an Apple cloth to hold us over

It’s almost a 99% chance they will sell stock, since they did in the rest of the world. It’s likely they’ll open them around 7:45-8
 
Going to the apple store i should be able to see if there’s activity inside.

You can usually check the Apple page for the store, it’ll update if they have special launch day hours, checked the flagship store in my area and they’re doing normal hours (10am).
