could someone refer me to some laptop sleeves
looking for a laptop sleeve that is water proof or at the very least water resistant
not a hard cover/case
under $70

the haglof laptop dry bag would be perfect but I can't seem to find it in the US

Only water resistant one I've seen is the Thule sleeve Apple sells on the store.

Holy **** dude! That bag is AMAZING. I want it. Like...now. Tell her to make some and sell them; I'm in for one, maybe even two!

Aww thanks, she will be pleased to hear that you like them so much. ^_^ Mine's a one off though I'm afraid. 😉

A good place to look for bags, sleeves for Apple products is Waterfield Designs - SF Bags. They do a great job and have exceptional service. I own a number of their products and I am extremely pleased with them. I think you will be too!!!!!!

I like SFBag sleeves too, but I'm not going to lie, its "slippery" texture combined with no handle is a bit inconvenient at times.

If they won't budge on the handle, at least make the sleeves easier to grip (securely) with one hand...

Which bag would you guys recommend for a 13" Macbook Pro (with sleeve), a Magic Mouse, an iPad 3 (with Smart Cover) and an iPhone 4?

Crumpler or bust. Their bags are brilliant, Ive been stuck in pouring rain and the laptop has stayed perfectly dry, I mean proper pouring rain, the kind that cause floods.

They protect the computer perfectly, keep it dry and depending on the type, hold all your other goodies! I own 2 now - the Dreadful Embarrassment and Dry Red No 5. Both are brilliant. No dings, no dampness or wetness, comfortable and best of all - lifetime guarantee. These puppies are well made, no crappy zippers, no ****** padding and enough room.

Anything less is doing your hard earned a disservice, HIGHLY recommend.

For my daily trips I have a Timbuk2 Blogger messenger bag (and 7 other bags). It has a corduroy lining in the laptop compartment. If you know Timbuk2 then you know there is a lot of space for stuff. Balistic Nylon. Padded area for MBP.

I keep my MBP in a Tucano Second Skin Sleeve. It looks new after using it for a few years. Keeps it shape and has a cool cover that doesn't scratch the body. Very soft to touch.

Hm, interesting, it also addresses my primary complaint with the SF sleeves (gripping), while one-upping it in terms of being water proof (SF sleeves aren't entirely waterproof). It is pricer than a standard SF sleeve though. Still, I'll keep this in mind the next time I buy one, thanks.

Those look really great, thanks! I'm moving to a rainier city later this year. Will definitely keep these in mind. This thread is awesome.

If rainy is a concern Chrome bags outperform Crumpler any day of the week. Made in USA to boot.

For my late 2008 unibody MBP I have a Booq Vyper M3 hard sleeve. the MBP fits snug.

I ordered the new retina MBP this week. As it is slightly narrower and slimmer, do you think I need a new retina specific sleeve or will my current one be ok? I just wouldnt want the rMBP moving around when i'm carrying it that's all

Here is a thread specific to the Retina's. Not many cases out yet for the Retina......but the QUALITY ones take a bit longer to release.
