what sets the standard for mbp cases? and also keyboard covers?

I'm far from an expert, but it seems that the Speck and Incase cases are the high-end options. To your earlier post, I thought the iPearl was fine but I didn't like the feel of the smooth plastic, I'd prefer a rubberized type of case. I looked at a Speck Satin in the store and liked it but am searching for a more economical alternative.

I need to get a new hard case for my lappy, the corners are breaking off of my Speck one. Didn't love the iPearls in this thread so I might go back to Speck.

I'm looking at getting an Incase hardshell case for my MBP. I've heard about the Speck ones scratching and rubbing the unibody finish. Has anyone had this problem with the Incase ones?

I heard if you clean it by taking it off every now and then to take off dirt then NO it will not scratch it. I am looking at getting one too. I've seen a couple up close and I'm warning you that the black one is a finger print magnet.

I've got a Speck one for my 15" late 2011 and no scratches so far. I take it off about every 2 weeks to just wipe underneath it and get any debris out. It has protected mine from a few solid bumps and falls so far, so I'm more than happy with the purchase.

incase hardshell perforating case any good for macbook pro 2011 15 inches?
Worth buying?
Specifically, protection and putting in my carrying incase bag.

I'm still looking for a cheaper alternative to the Speck...

I was about to buy one of the generic rubberized cases off Amazon (e.g. EC Technology, GMYLE, Case Star, Osaka, etc) but I realized that none of them protect the back corners, i.e. next to the black plastic/vent on back. The Speck, Incase, and the iPearl all appear to cover the back corners.

Does anyone know of a cheaper rubberized MBP case that covers all four corners?

What do you all think of the Joli Originals sleeves?

Those look really attractive, but also very form fitting -- are you sure your machine will fit with the Speck case?

I tried a Best Buy generic brand of hard shell for my 15" and it doesn't even fit. You get what you pay for.

I've bought my wife a brand new MBP 13" for Christmas - after converting more than 15 people to Mac, she is probably the single most important holdout in my family/circle of friends...

However, her ridiculously-slow Vaio needs to go so I don't care how long I take to make her accept the superior Mac world...only problem is: she loves pink and her Vaio has a nice leathery-like cover all over it.

So which pink hard cover should I get for her MBP 13" in order to ease her conversion? I have looked at Speck and it seems like the most renowned brand available, with good options (albeit a little expensive in my view).

Any others?
